Directions and Travel Information to Venue
When booking flights, please note that Delenia is best accessed by ferry boat from Agia Marina, which start at around 8AM and end at around 6-10PM, depending on day of the week and time of the year. So, if you are planning on coming straight to Delenia from the airport, it is best if you can arrive at Athens airport between 5AM and 6 or 7PM (or earlier in spring and autumn) to catch the ferry, and likewise, if you are leaving straight to the airport upon departure, it is best to book a flight that leaves between 10AM and 11PM
There is also access via the Chalkida bridge, so even if you are arriving in the middle of the night, you can drive the long way or transfers can be arranged with our trusted taxi driver (See Greece information tab)
You can enter "Villa Delenia" into google maps and it takes you there BUT there is one bit to avoid, towards the end of your journey. When you get to a white cabin in the village of Elaiochori it will tell you to turn left down a very steep and narrow road - IGNORE THAT! Just keep on the 'main road' (which is also quite narrow) and drive around the church/cemetery, with it on your left, NOT on your right!
From Athens airport it takes about 2-3 hours to reach villa Delenia, including a 45 minute ferry boat ride:

If you plan on renting cars at the airport (recommended but need a SUV type car to get down the driveway), the driver picking the bride and groom up can lead the way for the other cars, (please let John and Niki if you want to go this route ASAP to coordinate flights) and take you to the port of Agia Marina. From Athens airport, it is about 60 km drive to the port of Agia Marina (near Marathon village), then 45 minutes on the ferry to the port of Nea Styra, on the island of Evvia, then a 15 minute drive to the villa (near the village of Elaiohori, or Karalides).
