We first met while attending Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Nikki was a Junior in college while Doug was a Sophomore. We started out as two people looking for friends, little did we know it was start of a new beginning for both of us. At first, we were very shy with each other, but a mutual friend of ours helped us to realize we would be perfect together. She was our middle person that we discussed our mutual feelings for each other with. She started as Doug’s best friend, but quickly became Nikki’s forever sister.

Weeks after we first met, we were spending the majority of our time together. Our times would consist of getting to know each other over basketball, long late-night talks, scary movie marathons and pool days at Lynn. As time went on, we figured out that we had a lot more in common than we expected. We would go grab food together, walk each other to classes, study together and spend every moment of free time together.

Our first year of school came to a close. Doug and his family just moved to Arizona and he would be spending his summer there, while Nikki would be spending her summer in Naples with her family. The summer consisted of long facetime calls, goofy snapchat streaks, learning how to play monopoly over facetime and Doug learning that Nikki “bent the rules a little.” During this time, we learned how hard long distance can be, but after booking flights to visit each other, we had learned that the wait was more than worth it. We were able to grow our relationship and learn to gain a mutual trust and love for each other.

As time has gone on, we got to share each other’s accomplishments during our years at school. We were lucky enough to share so many memories through school and our early adult lives together. From Graduation and our first jobs to learning what it meant to be away from home and on our own. We were able to motivate each other in our careers and personal goals. Overtime we moved in together in Boynton Beach, Florida and after a year made the crazy decision to pack up and move across the country to Arizona. Since meeting each other our lives have become filled with joy, love and memories that would last a lifetime. We cannot wait to start the next chapter in our lives together and hope to share this special time with you all.
