Three major airports are close to the the ferry ports that transport to Catalina Island:
• Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in LA
• Long Beach Airport (LGB) in Long Beach
• John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana
There are two ferry options to get to and from Catalina Island:
• Catalina Express
◦ Departs from three ports—San Pedro, Long Beach, Dana Point—and travels to both Two Harbors and Avalon on Catalina Island.
◦ Each passenger is allowed 2 pieces of luggage, no larger than 23”x23”x37” and weighing no more than 50 lbs each, to be stowed in the luggage compartment. In addition, each passenger may bring one carry-on that fits at the seat or in the overhead bin.

◦ Departs from Newport to Avalon
◦ Carry-on luggage only. Only two pieces of hand-carried luggage per person. All passengers are required to carry their own luggage onto the boat and it will be put in the luggage storage area.

• Ferry reservations can be made about 1-2 months before your departure, depending on which ferry you are using.
