As many of you know, Jacob and Nina’s story was not a typical one. Each time we tell someone how we met, it seems more and more had to line up for our paths to cross that night in Milwaukee, Wi. Jacob grew up in Oklahoma City and decided to branch out and head to the University of Arkansas to pursue his mechanical engineering degree. After this success, he accepted a position at a company allowing him to move through three different engineering positions over the course of two years. He began his travels in Tennessee, moved on to Michigan, and finally, Wisconsin. In December 2021, Jacob made friends with a few coworkers and decided to go out for dinner to celebrate one of their birthdays. Meanwhile, Nina was working full time as a nurse while pursuing her Masters degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. She was invited to the same birthday dinner for one of her coworkers! Jacob and Nina sat next to each other at dinner and immediately hit it off. Nina was admiring Jacob’s impressive fishing pictures while Jacob noticed Nina’s dachshund necklace. Nina loved Jacob’s cowboy boots (which stood out in Wisconsin..) and Jacob couldn’t get over how much shorter Nina was in a large crowd. They continued to make conversation at a bar next door and ended up two-stepping at the end of the night. Since then, Nina and Jacob have been traveling and dating long distance (12 hours away) for about two years. They have been to 11 states and 2 countries together and this is just the beginning! Jacob has been Nina’s biggest supporter through school and Nina has been with Jacob throughout his changing career titles. As this long distance journey comes to an end, their greatest adventure of marriage will begin as they move to Arkansas to start their lives together!
