We've gathered answers to some common questions to help you feel relaxed and prepared for our wedding day. We hope this guide makes it easy to enjoy the celebration, whether you're wondering what to wear or where to park. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Q: Will there be alcohol?

A: This will be a dry wedding, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with you in that spirit. Instead of alcohol, we’ll be serving Navarro Vineyards’ Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir grape juices, organic sparkling cider, sodas, juices, coffee, tea, and water. We kindly ask that guests refrain from drinking before the ceremony or reception so we can all enjoy the day as we’ve planned it.

Q: Can I smoke at the venue?

A: The Stanford Inn is a 100% smoke-free property, indoors and outdoors.

Q: Can I bring my kids?

A: This will be a mostly adult celebration, with just a few children attending by exception (our photographer’s children and one guest’s little ones). We love all the kids in our lives, but we’re keeping the gathering small and intimate.

Q: Can I bring an extra guest?

A: We love you, but we’re unable to accommodate guests beyond those who were formally invited. Thank you for understanding.

Q: Can I take photos at the wedding?

A: Feel free to take photos before or after the ceremony, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the photographer’s or videographer's work. However, we kindly ask that no photos of the bride and groom be taken during the ceremony or reception. This is an unplugged wedding and we’d love for you to be fully present in the moment with us.

Q: What kind of food will be served?

A: Dinner and dessert will be fully plant-based, in line with the Stanford Inn’s vegan kitchen. Guests will choose from dishes like enchiladas, seapalm pad thai, and rustic flatbread, with appetizers in the garden before the meal. Kids will have their own menu with pizza or pasta. Cake will also be 100% plant-based.

Q: I have a food allergy—who should I talk to?

A: Let us know in advance, and we’ll coordinate with the kitchen to make sure you’re taken care of. Please include any allergies when you RSVP.

Q: Can I bring my own food?

A: The Stanford Inn is a 100% vegan resort. Outside non-vegan food is not allowed in public spaces. You're welcome to keep any personal food items in your guest room only.

Q: Is there a dress code?

A: Yes—please wear semi-formal or dressy casual attire in fall colors. Think warm, earthy tones and comfortable shoes (the ceremony will be in the garden!). Layers are encouraged. Mendocino evenings can be breezy and cool.

Q: Is there parking at the venue?

A: Yes! Guest parking is located up the hill to the right of the garden, near the ceremony space. For any parking or logistical questions, please contact Janie at (832) 889-7536.

Q: Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

A: The ceremony will be outdoors in the garden, and the reception will be indoors in the Big River Room. We recommend bringing a light layer, as Mendocino weather can be cool and breezy.

Q: When and where is the wedding?

A: We’re getting married on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the beautiful Stanford Inn by the Sea in Mendocino, California. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM in the garden, followed by appetizers, dinner, and celebration.
