Steven and Nissa first met in February 2017 at Planet Fitness where Steven worked at the time. Nissa was there working out with her mother Cheryl. As Nissa was working out, she caught the eye of Steven. At the end of Nissa and Cheryl's workout, Steven was determined to talk to Nissa and get her number, but Nissa's mother had other plans. Cheryl wanted to sign up for a membership with Planet Fitness, and of course Steven was there to assist.

Nissa was off to the side looking at her phone paying no attention to the interaction between Steven and Cheryl. It wasn't until Nissa heard raised voices to which her head and eyes lifted. Nissa observed Steven stating over and over again, "you have to fill the application out electronically through the tablet", and Cheryl saying, "well why, don't you guys have paper applications." Nissa clearly saw the frustration in both Steven and Cheryl's face and chose to intervene at that moment. Lets' just say Nissa calmed the situation down. Nissa's noticed Steven looking at her but just thought for a quick second, "Oh he's cute" but, then proceeded to help Cheryl with the electronic membership application. Once the application was complete, Nissa and Cheryl gave their thanks and left the gym.

later that evening, Nissa was board on her phone enjoying her single life by scrolling through a dating site, and let's just say a little snippet of a headshot photo caught her eye. Nissa noticed that she was looking at the same guy that she seen at the gym who was helping her mom with the membership application. She thought, "hmmm, why not" and clicked on the photo and proceeded to read his profile. Nissa had indeed found Steven. She decided to message him since she liked what she read and, it didn't hurt that he was handsome too. Steven quickly realized that the girl of his dreams from the gym earlier that day, had messaged him. They quickly exchanged numbers and conversed for several hours over the phone. As time passed (3 hours) of Steven and Nissa talking on the phone, Steven said, "we been on the phone for so long, we should have had this conversation face to face." Being the spontaneous person that Nissa is, she said, "okay where do you live."

Well let's just say folks, that was all she wrote and Steven and Nissa have been inseparable ever since.
