Our Wedding

Our Shakespearean comedy began two weeks into our freshman year in the Biblical Revelations class at Grove City College. After a socially inept Grover stole Amy’s front-row seat, she was forced to sit in the back of the class next to Noah. While listening to a shameless plug for the school’s gun club (endorsed by Jesus Himself), we traded sarcastic quips about the presenters and kicked off an emotional odyssey. Although Noah’s firstadvances were politely shot down because of Amy’s residual relationship in California, he quickly demonstrated his superior value as a future mate and secured a date to the Broad Street Grille in bustling downtown Grove City. Despite both being hesitant to start a relationship in the first month of college, we rose to the occasion and fulfilled the freshman couple stereotype. For the next two years, the courtship continued as we clung to each other for dear life. We hit a minor speed bump in our junior year. While juggling the heaviest course loads of our college careers and deeply serious commitments such as theater and Ultimate Frisbee, itwas hard to spend quality time together, and our relationship began to whither. We ended up not dating for the second half of our third year of school. However, on a 180-acre campus,there were bound to be some chance encounters. For some reason, we were unable to avoid each other. Eventually, after one such encounter near the end of junior year, the relationshipwas reignited. As we departed school for our respective coasts, both of us felt hope for the future. Beginning our senior year, we very responsibly jumped feet first back into couplehood. We went on dates to some of the classiest establishments in all of Western Pennsylvania such as the Blackout Burger Bar and Rachel's Roadhouse. We traveled to South Carolina during spring break to play in the largest Ultimate Frisbee tournament in the world. Finally, we finished out our final year of undergrad together and each took our next career steps.Fortunately, the people at the UNC admissions office made the worst decision of their collective lives and didn’t let Amy into their Master’s program for social work. Amy enrolled inthe more prestigious and more conveniently located University of Pittsburgh. Noah would visit the city every other weekend while working a cushy job and living rent-free with his parents inMaryland. However, this visitation schedule was not enough for either of us, and Noah began searching for a job in Pittsburgh. He eventually found a job and moved 2 miles from Amy in January 2020, where we saw each other much more regularly and Noah paid his own rent. We continued to build our relationship over the next year until… February 26th, 2021 when Noah proposed to Amy on the Roberto Clemente bridge in the freezing cold. Since then, there has been a Masters's program graduation, a new jobstarted, numerous zoo trips, and a lot more wedding planning. Building our relationship has truly been an adventure, and we are tremendously excited to share the next and most importantstep with you. We would like to thank you for playing an unwritten part of this story, and wecannot wait to see you on May 29th.
