Noah and Elise met at the University of South Dakota. In 2021, Noah and Elise were both bartenders at the Charcoal Lounge in Vermillion, SD where Noah was completing his MBA and Elise was in her second year of graduate school for occupational therapy.

They dated long distance for about a year and a half while Elise completed her doctorate in occupational therapy. Noah traveled to all across the midwest to visit Elise in Fargo, ND, Omaha, NE, and Des Moines, IA. After graduating in fall 2022, Elise moved to Sioux Falls, SD where they have been living since.

Noah proposed in September 2023. They were in Illinois visiting Elise's family for her grandma's 98th birthday. Noah asked Elise to go for a walk where he proposed, and when they got back Elise's family was there to celebrate.
