How We Met

That boy is SO cute. This is what Julia thought her senior year of high school. Every day, like clockwork, this boy would be standing in the same spot after the last bell of the day. The hopeless romantic within her told her that one day she would figure out his name and marry this man. At last, graduation came with no marriage proposal or name in sight. Flash forward to August 2021. Julia was newly hired at a local bank as a part-time teller while she completed her associates degree. Noah, also working towards his bachelor's degree, was the other newly hired part-time teller at the same bank. Julia immediately knew at the first look that this was the same boy from her senior year. Would someone please check off "knows his name” from the list? The two quickly developed a love-hate relationship where conversation and laughter came just as easily as arguments. Noah was known to try to stir the pot with Julia. Julia was known for being a bit dramatic. Together, they would talk all day at work, and text each other during class time and non-business hours.

In August of 2022, Julia finished up her associates degree and took a leave of absence from her job at the bank to move to Macomb to complete her bachelor’s degree. Noah ended up quitting the bank shortly after to help with his grandfather’s business. They both would continue to text back and forth, but life got busy and times had changed.

How We Met (Again)

Julia decided to take a semester off from school to focus on saving money. She started her same teller position at the same bank just like she left it. Well, minus Noah. In the middle of September 2023, Julia decided to take an earlier than usual lunch for no reason in particular. She decided to quickly run next door to McDonald’s. As she walks across the parking lot, the door to McDonald’s opened and out came Noah with food in hand. ”Thankfully I’m leaving!” He yelled out and laughed. Julia laughed with him and remembered just how easy it always was to laugh around him. That’s when she devised her plan. She ran to the store after work to get ingredients to make brownies. She made the brownies and asked Noah if he wanted to taste test them with her. He accepted. They both spent the rest of the night talking and laughing together. The next day, they went out on their first technical date to golf at Knight’s Action Park.

Dating Adventures

By the end of the night of their first date, Noah and Julia made their relationship official!

The Proposal

“We should plan a fun weekend trip halfway through the semester.” “Why?” “Because we should have something to look forward to!” Noah had planted the seeds for proposing. Julia was a little skeptical, but she is not known to turn down a fun “just because” trip. As the fall semester begins to get more and more stressful, the two looked forward to planning their short trip. Deciding on what to do, where to stay, what to eat, it all allowed for an escape from the stresses of school. Finally, the time had come! The two went off to St. Louis as boyfriend and girlfriend. They had a fun day planned out that included the zoo, yummy food, and mini golfing. At lunch time, the two decided to go to Fitz’s, a restaurant that has turned into a small tradition when visiting St. Louis. “I forgot my phone in the car!” Noah said. “Well, go get it!” Noah got up from the table to go retrieve his phone, except he was not getting his phone. He was grabbing the ring that was hidden in his car. Before heading back to the table, he told the front desk what was happening and asked for one of them to stop by their table in a few minutes and ask to take a photo to secretly record the event. Noah sat down and the two put in their orders with the waiter. The manager stopped by the table a few minutes later to ask if she could refill any drinks. When she brought back the drinks, she asked if we wanted our photo taken. Noah passed the lady his phone which was already recording. He proceeded to get down on one knee and ask Julia to marry him. For anyone keeping track of Julia’s checklist from the beginning, please check off “marry him.”

A New Beginning

Colby Burton - 24

Colby is a recent graduate of Missouri Western University in legal studies. He has plans to attend law school at Washington University in St. Louis or the University of Texas to continue his education. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games as well as spending time with his friends.

Elizabeth Haney - 27

Elizabeth is a nursing student at St. John’s College of Nursing as well as a patient care technician at St. John’s Hospital. She enjoys drawing, painting, sewing, and collecting antiques and trading cards, such as garbage pail kids or anything historical. She is passionate about tattoos, getting them, and the history behind them. She dreams of visiting the Steve Irwin Zoo in Australia, as well as get an authentic traditional Japanese tattoo in Japan.&nbsp;

Memory With The Bride

Elizabeth enjoys the memory of playing together with the bride while growing up when her mom would babysit all the cousins. They would often play restaurant with the younger kids by creating a menu, having them play as customers, and making their orders at lunch time. They called their restaurant “EJ’s”

Nathan Clark - 23

Nathan likes to read, play games, and spend time with family and friends. He is interested in religion and finance among many other things. He graduated with his bachelor's in accounting and currently works as an auditor. His goals include getting his CPA, reading more, traveling, and retiring early.

Nathan enjoys all of the memories with the groom. Specifically playing chess, hanging out, going to baseball games, playing video games, and talking about religion and politics to name a few

Noah enjoys going to the gym, watching movies and anime, and occasionally playing video games. He is currently a student at Illinois State University Edwardsville. His life goals include getting his bachelor's degree, gaining weight, learning to cook, and being able to bench more than the groom (the groom says he will never be able to bench more than him).

RSVP Information

♡ Please RSVP by October 1st, 2025. ♡ If we do not receive your response by the deadline, we will assume your party is unable to attend. We will truly miss celebrating with you. ♡ For your convenience, RSVPs may be submitted either by mail or online under the "Online RSVP" page. ♡ The number of seats reserved for your party is noted on your RSVP card. We kindly ask that you honor this number by not bringing additional guests beyond what is indicated.

The Venue

♡ Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the&nbsp;Northfield Inn Suites and Conference Center. Please note that the entire celebration will be held indoors. ♡ The address of the venue is 3280 Northfield Drive, Springfield, Illinois 62702. ♡ As the venue has multiple entrances, kindly use the&nbsp;Northfield Center II entrance&nbsp;for our celebration. ♡ A small block of rooms has been reserved for our out-of-town guests. Additional rooms outside the block are also available. To make a reservation, please call&nbsp;(217) 523-7900.

Food & Drinks

♡ A cocktail hour will take place immediately following the ceremony, featuring a variety of hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. ♡ Dinner will be served shortly after the reception begins. ♡ An open bar offering select beers and wines will also be available throughout the reception.

The Timeline

♡ The ceremony will begin at&nbsp;4:30 PM. We kindly ask guests to arrive about 30 minutes prior to allow time for seating. ♡ The reception will begin at&nbsp;6:00 PM, featuring dinner, dancing, and an open bar with select beers and wines. A cash bar will also be available for additional drink options. ♡ The evening will conclude at&nbsp;10:00 PM, as we bid farewell with a joyful send-off for the newlyweds.

Miscellaneous Questions

♡ Is there a dress code?There is no strict dress code, but we kindly ask that guests follow traditional wedding etiquette and dress in formal attire. We also ask that the color white be reserved for the bride. ♡ What is parking like at the venue?The venue offers complimentary parking in the lot located at the front of the building. ♡ Can I take my own photos?We ask that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony, so that everyone can be fully present in the moment with us. Beyond the ceremony, we encourage you to capture memories throughout the evening! To make sharing easy, we’ll be using the app&nbsp;Photo Circle. Simply download the app and create a free account with your email to join our wedding album.
