Q + A

Any questions? We’ve got you covered!

Where are the wedding and reception taking place?

Both will be held at First United Methodist Church of Commerce, 1709 State Highway 50 Commerce, TX 75428 - Please enter on the side of the church facing the Service Road.

What time is the Ceremony? What can I expect after?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 11am. Please try to arrive early for good parking. There will be a small break for pictures during which light snacks will be served in the reception area. The reception will immediately follow with lunch at approximately 12:30, followed by dancing and dessert.

What type of food and drinks will be served during the reception?

We will be serving snacks with punch and a buffet lunch followed, of course, by dessert.

I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you?

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary restrictions. We will be accommodating gluten free and dye free restrictions but will need a count of how many have these needs.

Will there be an open bar?

Absolutely no alcohol is allowed on the premises, this is the church’s rule. Any celebratory drinking must be done on your own at a separate location.

What’s the dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is Semi-formal. This means women in dresses and men in a button up shirt and tie or even a suit jacket if they would like.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The wedding and all activities except for a few pictures with family will be indoors.

What Weather Should I Expect?

Since the wedding will be held indoors, it is not much of an issue. During fall in Texas there is really no telling what the weather will be, so please keep an eye on your weather app as the time approaches.

Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue?

We are not providing any formal transportation, but our ceremony and reception are taking place at the same location. There are parking lots on all three sides of the church. For over-flow parking you can parallel park on Methodist Drive, just beside the church. Parking on the service road is not advised.

How do I RSVP?

Once we get a little closer to the date there will be an RSVP section on this website. Go to "Home" and click on the RSVP button.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please get us your RSVP by August 9th, so we have enough time to buy food.

Can I bring my kids? Will there be childcare?

Although we would love to have your whole family at our special day, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 7.(Immediate family is the only exception.) We kindly ask that you get a sitter for anyone younger than 7 and for your older kids, please consider bringing quiet activities for them during the ceremony.

Are you registered? Where should we ship your gift?

We are registered a few places, you can find the details on our registry page. The places we are registered have shipping options so things can be sent directly to us or you can bring gifts in person as you prefer.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to take pictures! We will have a QR code on a table during the reception for you to send all your photos to so the bride and groom can save them.
