We met during our doctoral program at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. We were friends for years before we took the leap and began dating. Several months later we moved in together and adopted Zoë, Mika's new sister!

The following year the pandemic hit and we became even closer (in proximity and emotionally) and our love for each other grew. Along the way we've made some incredible friendships with people from all over the world and we made memories in one of our favorite cities in Texas, Fort Worth.

After graduating from UNTHSC, we packed up all of our things, and cats, and moved to New York City! Since then we've both been working as post-doctoral fellows at different institutions and exploring the city. We look forward to starting our post-post-doctoral fellowship lives together as faculty/professors and settling down into a house. We hope to settle down in Washington DC, or Texas, but who knows where we will end up.
