It all started in June 2019 when we matched on Hinge, a dating app that brought us together. Our very first date took place on June 21st at the Buckhead Saloon in Atlanta, Georgia. Little did we know that this date would be the beginning of something truly special.
Noah's first impression of Maggie was that she was not only extremely pretty but also seemed incredibly cool, fun, and adventurous. He was particularly impressed by her guitar-playing photos. Maggie, on the other hand, was captivated by Noah's thoughtful questions he asked about her guitars, which made him stand out. She was mesmerized by Noah's ability to make her laugh, carry on a conversation late into the night, and his charming and warm presence, something she still cherishes. On their first date, Maggie thought Noah was cuter in person than in the pictures!
One early memory that stands out is when Noah tried to cook Maggie a nice grilled steak dinner. Unfortunately, the steak ended up resembling a hockey puck more than a gourmet meal, but Maggie appreciated the effort and ate it anyway.
Another early memory that stands out was a date to their favorite brewery in Rosewell, Gerogia (Gate City). Maggie was still a little nervous and knocked a beer over onto Noah's pants. They both laughed it off.
Our relationship evolved from cautious optimism to a life-changing decision. Maggie knew she wanted to pursue a PhD in the future and Noah knew he wanted an independent girl with a plan. He may have gotten more than he bargained for as Maggie needed to move to Colorado for school. She convinced a Georgia boy like Noah to take the leap and move with her. Over time, we've adopted a cat, purchased a house, and built lasting friendships in Colorado, which we can't wait to celebrate with at our wedding.
For Noah, the moment he knew Maggie was "the one" was when he couldn't stop thinking about her during the weekends they were apart.
For Maggie, the moment she know Noah was "the one" was when she realized she didn't see any future that was without Noah in it.
We share a deep love for hiking, biking, motorcycling, camping, cooking, and even the occasional Call of Duty match. Our love for the outdoors and "friendly" competition grew as our relationship did. Whether we are almost getting the car stuck in a white-knuckle ride to Bill Moore Lake or swearing at each other during heated battles of Mortal Kombat, it doesn't matter what we're doing as long as we're doing it together.
Our engagement story takes us to Myrtle Beach, where we stayed in Noah's parent's condo for Maggie's birthday. After a fancy dinner and a few drinks, Noah convinced Maggie to take a night walk on the beach. As they stood on the sand, he surprised her with a heartfelt proposal, and although Maggie claims to have "blacked out" upon seeing the ring, she managed to say "yes." Maggie had known for years she wanted to marry Noah, however Noah still nervously planned this beautiful proposal and called Maggie's parents and twin to ask for permission.
While this part of our story is yet to be written, we're very excited to have you be a part of our story, and we can't wait to celebrate with you on our wedding day!
