We first met on a double date at a Japanese restaurant while seeing other people. Noel was blown away by Mike's chopstick skills, while Mike was amazed by Noel's sake tolerance...and the rest was history.

One Friday night while we were living in Fort Worth, Mike told me that he had made plans for us to go to a "mixer event" that was being held in the planetarium at the University of Arlington. When we arrived, we were led into the planetarium, and the first thing I noticed was that no one else was there. Instead of groups of people mingling and enjoying hors d'oeuvres, there was a lone, tablecloth covered, round table in the center of the planetarium. On the table was a pair of wine glasses, two plates that had steak and mashed potatoes, and two plates with a piece of cheesecake on each. We were shown several shows that the planetarium has on file: one on the solar system and one on black holes. As the second showing came to an end, the student that had been running the tapes told us that our hour there was almost up, but we had just enough time for one last special show. At this point, music started circulating throughout the room and pictures of Mike and I were projected one at a time on the dome of the planetarium. The music started to decrescendo, the pictures stopped circling the room, and a shooting star scripted out on the ceiling "Will You Marry Me?"
