"The Love Story"

This Love Story begins in October 2020; after Noemi moved back to Texas from living in Tacoma, WA for 3.5 years. Juan and Noemi first met in person at the end of 2020 when Covid was still very much a part of everyone's lives. There was so much uncertainty on what was going to happen with this becoming a difficult part of our daily lives. Their first date was going out, talking and eating wings at Pluckers. Juan was very quiet and Noemi thought he was not interested in her. But deep down there was a spark that Juan could not resist and they continued to see each other and a friendship blossomed. They both also enjoyed going to the gym, watching movies and taking a trip to the beach any chance they could during summers.

Juan lived in Austin, Tx at the time and made every effort to take the 1.5 hour drive to San Antonio, Tx to see Noemi any chance he could. They both enjoyed Tejano Music and dancing so they frequently began going to see many Tejano artists perform in San Antonio. At some of these performances they met other couples that shared this interest and stayed good friends with them.

Living apart and 80 miles away was very hard on their relationship as they only saw each other on weekends. So fast forward to 2023, Juan made the big decision to move from Austin to San Antonio and leave the city where he was born and raised so they could move into their own place together and build a stronger relationship.

Life continued to treat Noemi and Juan very well.

In 2024 they had a trip planned. They left in February on a cruise. During their trip on one of the port stops they made plans to spend the day at a beautiful resort as they both love the beach. On Feb 22nd, 2024 as they were both taking a walk on the beach Juan turned and got on one knee to propose to Noemi. It was such a perfect setting and a memorable day as they were also cheered from others watching from afar.

She said YES! of course.

After their return from the trip they shared the news with family and friends that shared in the excitement for them. They set the date for the following year so they could plan accordingly. As 2024 progressed the couple was unable to start on any Wedding planning. Noemi had been dealing with some health challenges and they were determined to get to the bottom and get answers from Doctors.

After several tests, one diagnosis later, additional procedures and waiting for more answers, Noemi and Juan met again with her Dr. in July whom had the answers and news they did not expect. She spoke to the couple together and gave Noemi the diagnosis of Thyroid Papillary Carcinoma - Stage 2. This was very difficult to process and take in and all plans and everything else was placed on hold. Noemi's health was the focus and how to tackle this together with the help of God.

This was the first time the couple had to face something very difficult together. But they put their trust in God and he brought them even closer and showed them they would be able to face any and all difficult times in the future with Gods help and guidance.

Noemi had surgery in October to remove the Cancer and has been doing well. On October 25 her Dr. contacted her and said the pathology report showed all the cancer was contained on the right side of the thyroid and she is now Cancer free. Praise God!!

She will have to continue Dr. appts, lab tests and more to be checked as precaution if it returns. The couples faith increased in this season, brought them closer in their relationship and are keeping their faith and trust in God that it will not return.

After all this, they were finally able to start the wedding plans for their marriage and unity before God, their family and friends.

April 18th is the date they originally chose and holds a special place in Noemi's heart.

They couple is so happy that this day is finally around the corner. Their love and devotion for one another is beyond what they both expected. They have had moments that have tested them but they have learned to overcome them, they have been there for one another and shown the commitment they both have for one another.

They have been planning this special day and are so grateful for their family's and friends love and support. They are excited to celebrate this day with you soon.

'And the two shall become one' - Ephesians 5:31
