Our Wedding

Once upon a time...📖 Like all great fairytales, ours has been a rollercoaster ride filled with funny stories and magical memories. Who would have thought that a Breen from Caherdaniel and a Healy from the Crossroads would cross paths in New York City? Since 2018, we've been on an incredible journey, from Mountain Creek to Machu Picchu, Astoria to Aruba, Central Park to Caye Caulker, and, finally, Long Island City to the Lodgewood! In 2012, Cormac moved to New York City full-time after gaining work experience in his third year in Limerick where he studied “Construction Management”. Along the way, he picked up two Kerry comrades - Aidan Fitzgerald and David Ashe. Over the next 12 years, he navigated the world of concrete and construction, on the pitch in Gaelic Park with Kerry GAA, and of course, enjoyed the social scene New York City had to offer - The Long Hall and Tom &amp; Jerrys, to name just a few! In 2018, Noreen decided to take a career break from teaching in Dublin and moved to NYC to see what all the hype was about. Deirdre had moved the year prior, paving the way and setting up a fantastic crew of mischief-makers. Noreen ventured into the world of construction, joining the J T Magen Team as a Project Accountant and later advancing to HR Payroll Manager. Thanks to her New York family - especially her friends from Manhattan Gaels, NYC quickly became a home away from home, especially during the Covid-19 Global Pandemic. One Labor Day weekend, at a water park in New Jersey, Cormac took the plunge. A round of foot golf and a banjaxed buggy cart later, sparks flew, and the rest, as they say, is history! 2024 was a year to remember. Cormac surprised Noreen on March 3rd in Central Park by going down on one knee in front of the Fountain-a place very close to their hearts. She said yes before he could even utter a word - true story. What followed can only be described as a whirlwind of magic, memories and mayhem. We packed our bags, shipped our lives home to Ireland, and set sail for a trip of a lifetime around South and Central America. In August we landed back on Irish soil, and started the job hunt and NY marathon training. 26.2 miles and many belly laughs later, we are finally home and excited for the next chapter together with our incredible family and friends! And they live happily ever after ~ the End!

Where are Noreen &amp; Cormac staying? We will be basing ourselves in Old Village, Vilamoura for our time in Portugal. Vilamoura is 30 minutes from Faro Airport and it is also 30 minutes from the wedding venue. Is there accommodation at the wedding venue? No, there is no accommodation at the venue. Guests are recommended to stay in Vilamoura or Albufeira but of course the choice is yours. Will there be transport provided to/from the wedding venue? Transport to the Wedding Venue: Departing from the Four Seasons, Vilamoura @ 2.30pm. Please arrive in advance to ensure everyone is all aboard &amp; ready to roll on time. Transport from the Wedding Venue: Transport will depart from the Wedding Venue @ 2am, dropping guests back to the same pick up spot in Old Village, Vilamoura. Are there other transport options available to get to the venue if I decide to stay outside of Vilamoura? Yes there are other transport options throughout the Algarve. Local taxis are available along with Uber. Uber is used in Portugal and is very popular and reliable. Rental cars are also available. Will children be invited? As much as we love your little ones, unfortunately we will not be able to include them in the wedding day. We do sincerely apologise for this inconvenience - hopefully you can enjoy a child-free break away in the sunshine! What should I wear? Smart casual will work well but remember it is going to be hot! Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? The wedding ceremony and dinner reception will take place outdoors. We will venture inside later in the night for the dancing! Can you accommodate food allergies? FLIGHTS✈️ The most direct way to get to the Algarve is flying into Faro International Airport. From Ireland, Aer Lingus and Ryanair both fly into Faro Airport. Flights operate from Farranfore, Cork, Shannon and Dublin. From New York a direct flight is available from Newark International Airport to Faro via United Airlines. ACCOMMODATION🏨 Vilamoura We recommend staying in&nbsp;Vilamoura, a vibrant and beautiful area with a gorgeous marina full of lively bars, restaurants &amp; some amazing beaches. You also have the choice of staying in&nbsp;Quarteira&nbsp;which is about a 15-minute walk from the Marina &amp; accommodation would be a bit cheaper there! There is lots of accommodation around Vilamoura to suit all budgets. We strongly recommend browsing <a href="https:" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">booking.com</a> and <a href="https:" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.airbnb.ie</a>. Both are great websites to help plan your stay. Old Village, Vilamoura comes highly recommended and is where we shall be staying. WEDDING DAY TRANSPORT🚌 Transport for guests will be arranged to and from the venue from Vilamoura.The collection and drop off point is the Four Seasons Hotel.Please be outside the hotel at&nbsp;2.30 pm where buses will transport guests to the wedding venue.Transport will collect guests from the venue at 2.00 am and return to the drop off point. Taxi/Uber: If you prefer to get a taxi or uber to the venue, the average cost is approx. 20 -25 euro from Vilamoura or Albufeira.
