<p>Our love story started where all great romances do… at the gym. We were both regulars at Gold’s Gym, though Ryan didn’t know that I had nicknamed him “hot cop.” Then we both ended up at the same Washington Capitals hockey game. With a little help from one of my best friend’s Anna (and her liquid courage), introductions were made — and the rest was history.From workouts to coffee dates, we quickly realized we just loved being together, no matter what we were doing. Even our dogs, Oakley and Brody, approved and became the best brothers.Through rotating shifts that meant barely seeing each other, career changes, and everything in between, we’ve always been each other’s biggest supporters.Ryan somehow managed to pull off the ultimate surprise proposal by planning a fall trip to Shenandoah National Park during peak foliage while convincing me the entire weekend was for his best friends, Logan and Annie. After repeatedly being told “this trip is not about us,” I packed accordingly… hence the camo sweatshirt making its debut in the proposal photos.At the end of a perfect day, during one final hike along the river as the sun began to set with a few deer joining us across the water, Ryan got down on one knee. It was the easiest yes!!We are so excited to continue building our life and family together. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in this next chapter. 💛</p>
