Can I bring glitter? Sparklers? Noisemakers? etc.

The venues hate glitter and confetti :/ and have restrictions on flammable. Basically, don't bring them.

Will there be alcohol? Can I bring my own alcohol to any of the events?

In addition to interesting zero-proof options, there will be alcohol at several of our events. If you wish to partake, please do so in moderation and with a safe ride home arranged. Please DO NOT bring your own alcohol to any of our events (including in flasks, etc). There will be a hosted bar at the reception. In particular, our venue will shut down the wedding if there is outside alcohol, due to OLCC rules. If you are concerned about the beverages we will have available, please let us know.

420 okay? Medicinal cannabis?

We ask that you do not get high at our wedding—we invited you because we would enjoy your presence. Medicinal usage in moderation or per your prescription is fine. On the day of the ceremony, there will be a small, designated area for smoking and vaping.

What's the deal with COVID?

Turns out, it's still a thing, and we're still experiencing a pandemic. Please 1) get tested before attending any of our events per CDC guidance (which may involve multiple tests) 2) bring proof of vaccination to the rehearsal dinner, if you are attending, and 3) use masks and handwashing with your own judgement. Many activities and the ceremony on the day of will be outdoors, and indoor events will have air filters and open windows where possible.

What kind of weather will there be?

Portland weather in the fall is quite dynamic. Typically, drizzle or full-on rain is mixed with beautiful, mild days and changing leaves. We chose the wedding date for the best blend of Portland's beautiful colors and comfortable weather; the projected high (as of Wednesday) is 79f, and the projected low is about 55.

Will it rain?

Probably at some point. We've got plenty of backup plans for the day of, but you should definitely bring your favorite rain jacket for activities out and about town.

Where is Oleg from? How long has he been here? Did you meet before he came here?

Oleg is from Ukraine. He has been here for many years. We first met in San Francisco in 2018, where we both lived. You can read some highlights from the rest of our story elsewhere on this site, and we'll have a cool way to interact with our journey together prior to the ceremony!

Can I bring my partner/bestie/+1?

We're not yet ready for +1s at our ceremony, due to space limitations at the ceremony venue and the nature of the rituals we'll invite you to. Significant others are certainly welcome for other activities. We'll keep you posted about space as we go along! Thanks for understanding.

How do you pronounce your names?

American pronunciations of our names are Emm-Jay peh-TRONE-EE and Oh-legg kar-P-nets.

Can I bring my pet?

Certified service animals can be accommodated, The venue does not allow any other animals.

Will this be livestreamed?

Yes, we will attempt to livestream the ceremony for Oleg's family in Ukraine. We may be able to make that available to others, but hope you can make it in person!
