Pick up the ferry on the promenade from Santa Eulalia to formentera
They run are every hour and your able to buy a return ticket from the desk on the day.

You can hire a car once on formentera, (make sure you have your credit card and driving license)
All rental companies charge roughly the same & will give you a map with the main beaches they suggest stopping at, you can probably do 3 within the day. The ferry takes 1.5 hours
Definitely worth a visit, beautiful for a few drinks around the port.
You can also head towards Carrer de la Santa Creu, 5, 07800 Eivissa, Illes Balears. This is inside the fort area with lots of nice restaurants and atmosphere
