Lake Thunderbird State Park offers a variety of water activities and recreation. The park features two marinas (Calypso Cove Marina and Little River Marina), nine boat ramps and two swim beaches. Lake Thunderbird State Park also features playgrounds, picnic tables and an archery range. An array of hiking, mountain biking and nature trails are also available.

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art boasts the Eugene B. Adkins Collection, James T. Bialac Native American Art Collection, and Weitzenhoffer Collection of French Impressionism as well as 20th century American painting and sculpture, traditional and contemporary Native American art, art of the Southwest, ceramics, photography, contemporary art, Asian art and graphics from the 16th century to the present. During the wedding weekend, there will be an exhibition called Artists X Artists of photographs of artists, writers, dancers, and musicians.
