Our Wedding

Our Story, as told by kip

Our story began in 2013 at Towson University (8031 stand up!). Kip first met Olivia when he and his roommates walked around the apartment complex meeting the new neighbors. Their first conversation was Olivia insisting that her name was “Kip,” and that he’d have to pick a new name. Kip was shocked to find out later that a few of her high school friends actually did call her that.

Fast forward to a few months later, where Kip and Olivia and their roommates were practically inseparable. At Kip’s New Years Eve party that year, he finally worked up the courage to make a move. And the rest, as they say, was history.

Nearly eight years later and hundreds of boat days, beach trips and a few vacations to Europe, Kip (finally) popped the question while hiking at one of their favorite parks. Throughout their time together, Olivia and Kip have bought a house, got a wonderfully mischievous puppy and couldn’t be more excited to tie the knot!

Kip and Andy met on the York College swim team.  After Kip transferred to Towson, Andy visited so much that our friends thought that he went there! Fun Fact: Andy loves Marilyn Monroe Strawberry Cheesecake Vodka.

Ashlyn and Olivia have been best friends and attached at the hip since high school. At the wedding, you will most likely find Ashlyn tearing up at all of the sentimental moments... and tearing it up on the dance floor!

We are so very lucky to have Brandon joining us on Team Likes! Always ready to make an inappropriate joke (or ten) during family trivia marathons or join the crew on an all day tour of Lewes' best cocktails, Brandon fits right in!

Cam and Kip became quick friends  at work, and liked it so much they decided to get a brand new job together! Cam is always up for a card game of golf, a trip to a brewery or a late-night run to Taco Bell. Fun Fact: You can tell Cam's from California because the only shoes he wears are Vans or cowboy boots.

Kip and Casey (and Harry!) were roommates at Towson for their senior year - and what a year it was! They quickly became close after bonding over their love of video games, beer and ordering the same entree at restaurants. Today, they are in constant communication, agonizing over the fate of the Ravens (whether it's football season or not!) and plotting to get together to relive the college years.

Since they were 8 years old, Kip and Di Fatta have been best friends. After graduating from Calvert Hall together, they grew their friendship working at Philmont Scout Ranch and hiking for a million miles every day for fun. Fun Fact: No matter where Di Fatta lives in the country, he will still make the (sometimes HOURS-long) trek to celebrate milestones with Kip and Liv.

As Olivia's older brother, Hank has always held high expectations for her partner. Each boy that Olivia brought home drew lower and lower marks... that is, until Kip showed up! Finally, Hank approved and Kip was in - officially invited to partake in any and all Bushong shenanigans.

After meeting in college and immediately bonding over their shared criminal justice major, beer and guns, Harry and Kip decided almost immediately to become roommates for their senior year at Towson! With Casey in tow, the boys eventually found Olivia and Jaclyn and the family was set in stone.

The legend begins on June 25, 1993 at Lancaster General Hospital where a 4-month-old Olivia anxiously awaited the birth of her person, Jaclyn! From babies to college roommates, Jaclyn and Olivia have been best friends for over 28 years and plan to continue doing so (with Kip and Ian in tow!) for the rest of forever!

Julia and Olivia grew up as sisters - sharing 2 sets of parents and 2 very rude (or at least they used to think so!) brothers, living 2 houses away from each other in any given town, and even sharing in 2 Christmas mornings together because as soon as one was done opening their presents, the other would run down the street to see the others' haul.  Cut to today and they are still the 2 best of friends! Fun Fact: Julia and Olivia are both very excited that they will share a wedding anniversary that will be exactly 2 weeks apart from one another for the rest of their lives.

Kate is the little sister that Kip never wanted and the up-for-anything friend that Olivia was searching for! On any given Saturday you can find Kate, Olivia, Cam and Kip perched up at a bar playing Golf, FTD (incorrect!) or sometimes just yelling nonsense at one another from across the table. At the wedding, you will find Kate at Olivia's side, dutifully ensuring that she always has a drink in hand and a smile on her face.

When Kelly walked into Hank's life after moving to Chicago, the entire Bushong family finally breathed a sigh of relief - finally, a competent, confident girl for Hank! After meeting her in person, our sigh of relief turned into a standing ovation. Kelly is always up for a great time, a competitive game or a tour of a city and we so, so glad that Hank found the perfect person to complete our family!

Legend has it that Kip was a mute the first 5 years of his life. But, luckily for him, it didn't really matter because Kenny used her twin-telepathy to understand his wishes and immediately get things accomplished for him! As they grew older and wiser, they learned to speak for themselves, and they both swear up and down that twin telepathy doesn't exist... however, if you watch closely, you can sometimes catch a glance between the two of them that may convince you otherwise!

Who is Kip? First, he has a real name... it's Christopher, weird. But more importantly, he is the perfect match for Olivia. He's the first person to hand you a beer (or ten), ask you how you want your burger (as long as it's medium-rare), the first to quote Ron Swanson, and the perfect host for Sunday game day. He is so excited to start, or more so, continue, their shared lives together.  -As told by: Di Fatta

Kip Likes

After meeting at Advance a fateful 5 years ago and immediately bonding over their shared love of Parks and Rec, Lucy and Olivia have been close… in proximity (they shared a workspace for years!) and friendship ever since! Lucy Is Olivia’s sounding board, voice of reason and her ultimate validator. At any given time they both wish that they were walking on Lewes beach, sipping leftover margaritas out of wonton soup containers and appreciating the beauty around them.

After meeting at York College and bonding over a shared love of late-night snacks, energy drinks and FIFA, Nate and Kip remained close all through adulthood. Luckily for Olivia, Nate began visiting Towson as regularly as Andy and they too became fast friends! Fun Fact: Nate knows more Office trivia than anyone you’ll ever meet, besides maybe the Einsteins!

Who is Olivia? She's the other half of every friendship; the person who cares for, loves, and occasionally mothers everyone. The perfect Kip's Chris, she is truly the most wonderful person for him. She opens her home and heart to everyone and makes sure they have a drink in hand. She will make sure you know there is room at her house, even if she wants you to leave. She is beyond excited to continue her life with Kip and perhaps more importantly Lewey. As told by: Di Fatta

Taylor and Olivia consider themselves incredibly lucky to have been with inseparable friends, Kip and Casey, since college because luckily for them, that meant their lifelong friendship could begin too! Taylor is truly one of the most compassionate and giving person you’ll ever meet. At the wedding you’ll most likely find Taylor helping someone solve a problem or making sure she and Casey are the first ones on the dance floor!

Another best friend found in the dungeons of Enterprise, Travis and Kip have talked trucks, beer and football ever since sharing a branch together years ago. Travis is the first person at the party to give up his seat (or his food, his time or the shirt off his back) to a friend in need…as long as that chair wasn’t the one he was sitting in the last time the Ravens won a game. In that case, he’s not moving!

Check out the Turkey Point Lighthouse and take in a beautiful overlook of the Chesapeake Bay. This is an easy 2-mile hike that anyone would enjoy.

Patriot's Glen is a beautiful course 15 minutes from downtown North East. It's the perfect place to play 18-holes on a Saturday or Sunday morning!

A favorite place for margaritas, foosball and quesadillas, Tacos &amp; Tequila is directly across the street from Woody's and is a ton of fun for drinks and appetizers! Join us here after the wedding for an after party.

Right in downtown Elkton, this local brewery is a great spot to sample a flight after a round at Patriot's Glen.

Fun Fact: The Bushong family has been traveling to North East for years just to sample Woody's crabs! Order a dozen or so and sit outside at the Tiki Bar for the most authentic experience. Don't forget to wave at Sophie from the window of the cottage directly across the street!

TRACK BEACH39°35'26.9N 75°57'36.1W Closest to the marina, Track Beach is an easy spot to throw out the anchor and spend the afternoon. Don't forget to look for Dave's island fort and listen for Lewey barking at the trains passing by.

Join us on our complimentary shuttle (or as we like to call it… the party bus!) for easy transportation to and from the wedding. Please indicate on your RSVP if you plan to leverage the shuttle. Interested parties will be notified of final pickup times closer to the wedding date.

If you're staying in one of our recommended hotels, hop on the party bus for complimentary service to and from the wedding. GETTING TO THE WEDDING:&nbsp;The shuttle will be parked in your hotel parking lot at 3:15PM and will depart for the wedding at 3:40PM. Please ensure you have enough time to check in to make it on the bus on time! LEAVING THE WEDDING:&nbsp;Hop back on the shuttle bus at the end of the wedding. The bus will first drop off interested guests at the After Party. Immediately after, the bus will head back to the hotels for drop off.
