Our Story

Where do we start with this one? Oh! Well, for starters, if you do not know her, Elle is Olivia's favorite sister...also, her only sister. Elle has a larger than life personality and could captivate any audience if she wanted to. Growing up together, Olivia and Elle had a normal sister dynamic with an even balance of fighting and being best friends. Once Olivia hit high school, Elle really took her under her wing. She let Olivia hangout with her upperclassmen friends, fed her Jimmy Johns day-old bread, serenaded her in the car to and from school and always kept an eye out for her little sister. Elle steers through life with patience, kindness, humor, confidence and a love for all. Olivia truly looks to Elle as a role model and never takes an opportunity to be with her sister for granted.

Greta and Olivia originally crossed paths in the second grade. Although they did not hit it off right then and there, they sure did the following school year. Growing up, the two played hockey and lacrosse together and enjoyed any adventure that got them outside and required imagination. Despite going to different high schools and colleges, Greta and Olivia have remained loyal friends and pride themselves in staying connected throughout the years. Getting together now to reminisce on the stories of growing up together is something both of them cherish equally.

Mak and Olivia used to pass by each other in the halls of their high school almost daily. But, it was not until their college years when they began to build the relationship they have today. Olivia will admit that Mak used to intimidate her but all for good reasons. Mak is athletic, optimistic, insanely headstrong and quite sassy. Together, they can make anything a party. There is not much that Mak cannot handle as she spends most days as an ER nurse in Minneapolis. For this reason, Olivia values the direction Mak has provided as Olivia navigates her own path to becoming a nurse.

Olivia has known Hannah for the last 6 years. Hannah first came in to Olivia's life when her brother, Cal, decided to bring Hannah home for the first time. Stumped, as neither Cal or Hannah would admit to dating, Olivia wondered who she was and whether or not she would see her again. Olivia hopped she would as Hannah was calm, yet feisty and perfect for her brother. Fast forward to present day, Cal and Hannah are now engaged and Olivia could not be happier to have a new sister join the family. Olivia appreciates all of Hannah's qualities and the memories they have made and shared over the years.  Hannah will be taking the Crawford name on 5/30 so don't expect a Hess to be joining the party!

Jordan may just be the sweetest human you will ever meet. She has a heart of gold and would do anything for her friends or family. Jordan and Olivia's friendship began at the local honkey tonk in Durango, CO. With Olivia always looking to make a friend and Jordan's incredibly easy going personality, it was no surprise that it did not take the two long to form a friendship. Jordan excels at tooling leather, treading water and making beautiful art. Her calmness balances out all of Olivia's hectic tendencies making it a friendship to last.

The essence of an independent, strong willed woman is Faith. With incredible morals and values, Olivia was keen on the idea of befriending her. As an up and coming recreational sports league enthusiast, Olivia spent the beginning of their friendship cheering Faith on in all of her athletic endeavors. When Faith's volleyball team was in need of a player, Olivia volunteered herself for the role and within a moment, Faith did not hesitate to shut down the offer. Honesty is another great trait you will receive from Faith. Put Faith and Olivia in the same room and you will hear many laughs and many thoughtful conversations.

Nellie, given the honorary nickname of "Nelson" by Olivia, is a friend that more recently entered Olivia's life. Although the two may not have years to brag about, the time they have known each other has been priceless and proves that friendships are what you make of them. Olivia treasures Nellie's ability to intently listen to a life update or story, especially if it is dragged out or not that interesting. Nellie obtains immense compassion and has one of the most contagious laughs you'll ever hear. She is goofy and spirited and if you are lucky enough to meet her, you will agree.

This sassy diva, who does it all, will be the lovely Flower Girl. As Olivia's second cousin, family tradition runs deep as Olivia was a Flower Girl in Eva's parent's wedding almost 17 years ago. As an all around animal lover, Eva has a passion for 4-H, mastering horse shows and spoiling her cat and dogs. Eva's sporty side finds her on the volleyball court and participating in a variety of tournaments. Not forgetting the diva in her, Eva is ready to put the boots aside and dress to the nines for the big day!

As number two of the VDB boys and thirteen months Caleb's senior, Aidan is not only a brother but also a built-in forever friend. A bond rose from grab-assing as tots to snowmobiling in the mountains and haying their Uncle George's property as they got older. Aidan is a phenomenal cook and is always experimenting with new recipes to share with his family and friends. Unfortunately, this wonderful and extremely versatile skill did not reach Caleb's genes. Good thing the two only have their futures to try and resolve this issue.

Caleb's eldest brother, Garrett, can be characterized as ambitious and determined. He is an iron-willed young man who always ensures his family is put first. Caleb appreciates their time together growing up - driving into town for football practice, learning how to mechanic on odd machines, and sharing mutual friendships that still stand in present time. As daredevils at Purgatory Resort, the two sought thrills and Garrett's ambition for catching "big air"... consult their father, Brent, for details and proof.  Garrett also introduced Caleb to beer, late nights and a need for speed.

Gage is a long time friend of Calebs and someone who would drop anything to help anyone out. Gage is known for consistently sporting a 10-gallon cowboy hat and indulging in retro cowboy gear. Laughter commonly erupts when Gage is in any room. His big heart and easy going personality has made it easy for him and Caleb to maintain a connection over the years. They have shared many great memories including those made on the Las Vegas strip and the ones made while RZR riding in Moab.

Down to earth and always willing to share a great story, Chance is a guy that is enjoyable to have around any day of the week.  He is known for making exceptional eye contact and routinely wearing the heaviest starched jeans in the Southwest Corner. Chance will humbly share photos and mementos of his prized possession, his bull named Toad. Caleb and Chance share a passion for semi's and find this as a valuable topic of conversation. Caleb recognizes Chance's good-heartedness and courage. 

Chance Lambert

As the world's pickiest eater, Tyler has a way of bringing a smile to just about any face. He is fervent about bringing home and caring for special animals on his farm where he also stores his inventory for "wheeling and dealing" vehicles. Caleb and Tyler might get along so well due to them both preferring to go with the flow. Tyler holds his friends close but his goats closer. Without them, Tyler would be in dire need of a lawn mower. If you happen to see a big ass yellow school bus parked at the wedding and it needs to be moved, ask for Tyler.

As Olivia's older brother, Cal exercised a great deal of posturing during his and Caleb's first encounter. Trying to obtain the persona of the "macho man" was irrelevant as these two quickly found their common sandbox. Cal is known to have a unique wittiness about him and chooses to go about life by always looking at the brighter side of things. With varying interests between Caleb and Cal, the two have gained immense knowledge from one another through swapping life stories and the events that have shaped them into the young men they are today. 

Callahan Crawford

An occasionally difficult man to track down, Josh is always on the move with spontaneous adventures that have taken him all over the U.S., to Winnipeg and even Australia. Josh is devoted to his recreational hockey team, known better to the Minnesotan Folk as Beer League, his close knit family and to wearing a vibrant popped collar shirt consistently paired with shorts. Caleb respects Josh's eagerness to get out and go do. The two of them tend to look forward to improving their golf game whenever weather and work allows, trying out new adult beverages Durango dishes out and that one place at 11th Street with the chicken.

Wesley holds the final position of number four of the VDB boys. He is a spirited young sir with a new found passion for hockey and all things outdoors. In the winter, you can catch him ripping through the mountains of Southwest Colorado  on his bright yellow Ski-Doo. In the summer, you can simply find him at the lake getting his tan on in his kayak or on his big brother's boat. Wesley will be in his element at the wedding as he loves to get to know new people and discover new places.
