 Olivia and Dakota’s story began on the beach one Fourth of July. Later that night, they skipped the fireworks and went to see a movie instead. It didn’t take long for them to realize they were hooked. Not long after, Olivia came to watch Dakota’s summer baseball game. 

The First Date

One month after they met, it was Olivia’s 19th birthday and by then, they were officially dating. Between birthday celebrations, they were already counting down the days until Dakota had to head back to college.

When Dakota moved 1,600 miles away to New Jersey for baseball and Olivia stayed in Tampa to finish softball, they quickly adapted to a long-distance relationship. They supported each other through livestreams, grew even closer over FaceTime, and built a love that Olivia still jokes is “crazy” but one she wouldn’t trade for anything.

Miles Apart 

Thanks to two of their favorite people — Best Man Brendon Rowan and Bridesmaid Deanna Rowan — tying the knot, they were blessed with the sweetest reunion. Even though it was less than 24 hours, it meant the world. After the wedding, Olivia drove Dakota back to the airport, and just like that, the six-month countdown until they could be together again officially began.

One Sweet Day

Dakota was finally back, and he and Olivia spent the rest of the summer soaking up every moment and building their love story. It was a season filled with big decisions and even bigger growth, as they both chose to hang up their cleats and start pursuing their dreams. Looking back at those pictures now, they can’t help but smile at how young they were and how much was still ahead of them.

Turning a page together 

One year was officially in the books for Olivia and Dakota, even though most of it was spent over FaceTime. It was during this year that they truly learned how valuable and special their time together was.
