Food
Providence is an awesome food city, so it is hard to go wrong, but here are some of our go-to local spots:
Maria's Cucina: One of our favorites of the many Italian restaurants in Providence, located inside a 100 year old Victorian home (which also serves as the home of the local Italian-American club).
Estiatorio Fili: A small, new Greek spot with great food and wine and the owner is always sitting at the bar.
Aguardente: a menu featuring dishes from Portugal, Guatemala, and the Azores, and yummy cocktails.
Bayberry Garden: Farm-to-table seasonal dishes, botanical decor, outdoor seating, and good wine.
Cielito: A great upscale Mexican spot opened by a James-Beard award nominated chef.
Durks: Good BBQ and a fun atmosphere! Indoor or outdoor seating.
Haruki: our fav for sushi.
The East End: A variety of good food and drinks with intimate, warm and cozy ambience inside, and small outdoor seating option.
Oberlin: modern seafood and pasta dishes paired with a good wine list.
Pasquale's: Located 40 minutes south of Providence (maybe perfect for the drive home?), Pasquale's is run by a Naples native and offers Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana award winning pizza, as well some classic Italian dishes.
Bars
Trinity Brewhouse: a classic RI brewery. Very causal; mostly beer but also a full bar.
The Dean Bar: a tiny, moody, cocktail lounge that feels like a tucked-away speakeasy.
Providence GPub: a restaurant/sports bar with three stories and tons of TVs showing games. They have a great rooftop and pool tables and other games in the basement.
Ogie's Trailer Park: a fun, dog-friendly dive bar with pub food, outdoor seating.
Myrtle: 5 mins from our house with cocktails and live music every night!
