On my 2nd day in my graduate counseling program, I worked that evening at FedEx and met Nick. I immediately thought he was the most attractive person I had ever seen, so I figured I might as well see if his heart was as good as his looks. And sure enough, it was! After talking to him the 2nd day, I knew he was the one. I called my mom while walking out of the warehouse and said, "I think I just met my future husband..!". It was a strange intuition I had never experienced before!
As Nick was studying for the GMAT (an exam commonly required to apply to a MBA program), I learned that my program meets requirements for licensure in Michigan if we needed to stay there. I also learned, once I was hired onto my practicum site, that I could stay with them once I'm in Michigan and do telehealth counseling. The end of my practicum also happens to be the week before Nick begins his MBA program! So, God was lining up everything perfectly for us. :)
We got engaged in August on a road trip to Michigan to visit Michigan State. There, we got engaged at a beautiful outdoor garden. Everything is coming full circle now as we are headed back to Michigan this August since he got into his MBA program!
During our search for wedding venues, a venue we loved happened to have one day open on April 26th, with a special package deal. The timing could not have been more perfect. April 26th - May 5th are exactly the days I have off in between my spring and summer semester, meaning no homework or makeup work!
We can see God's hands on us through it all. I got into a practicum site that has already agreed to hire me on as a telehealth provider once we move to Michigan, and he got into a competitive and reputable MBA program that begins a week after my program ends. Soon, we will be moving to the same state in which he proposed. Our venue date also happened to line up perfectly with my program and practicum dates. How crazy is it that our hopeful plans are becoming a reality! We believe God has blessed our relationship and we are so grateful we found one another!
August 2022, I was working the night shift at FedEx when I saw Livvy. I thought to myself how beautiful she was, and that was not common at FedEx. I instantly thought about ways in which I could speak with her. I decided I would go and show my physical strength by helping her load packages into the trailer. So I approached. She was busy loading packages stacking one on top of the other but little did she know the full package was standing right behind her. I said hi. I continued to talk with her noticing similarities in hobbies, athletics, and religion. I quickly realized Livvy enjoyed mountain biking, going to the gym, and had a good heart. She was truly the blessing I needed. A loyal, special woman, and a health activist with the willingness to pursue ambitions no matter where it may take us.
