Our story began in the Fall of 2020, during our senior year at St. Norbert College. We met during morning workouts as we both trained with our teams for our respective sports seasons. Small talk during workouts eventually led to us texting daily during winter break. As the Spring semester approached, Kevin returned to De Pere, and on his first day back, he asked me on any girls dream first date--Chilis and Bowling.




Kevin and I started dating on February 6, 2021. We both had decided to go back for a 5th year at St. Norbert, so that summer Kevin stayed in De Pere where he and I grew closer, met each others family and friends, and trained together for our upcoming sports seasons.




The fall and winter quickly came and went as we both competed and cheered each other on from the stands. We graduated in December of 2021; Kevin with degrees in History and Education, and myself with a degree in Business Administration.




After graduation, Kevin was offered a teaching position at De Pere High School starting in the Fall of 2022. Meanwhile, I decided to go back to school for what people like to say a 6th year. During the Winter of 2022-2023, I played my final year of collegiate basketball.




Fast forward, Kevin finished up his first year of teaching at De Pere High School in the Spring of 2023. He enjoyed being a De Pere Redbird and loved coaching football as the Freshman head coach and a Varsity assistant for his first year in the school district.




After my final basketball season, I decided to further my education with the goal of eventually becoming an Elementary Education teacher. While taking classes, I have also been assisting with the Girls Basketball program at De Pere High School.




During the first week of July, Kevin and I were enjoying time up at Maiden Lake with the DeCleene family. A sunset boat ride on July 3rd with some of my cousins led to a few big surprises after we returned. Kevin led me to the edge of the dock where a well-placed engagement ring and well-timed proposal were waiting.




The engagement, surrounded by the DeCleene family, was a big surprise. However, the Pedersen family and a few of our closest friends showing up was an even bigger surprise and is a moment I will never forget!




A week after getting engaged, we welcomed a third member into our family—Winston, an english cream golden retriever. Upon the agreement that he could be a Packer fan so long as he was a Cubs fan, Winston joined us in our home, and the three of us together form the preview of the Pedersen family.
