Like any other couple nowadays we first connected on the dating app Bumble, and after some great conversations, we decided to meet in person at Cocoon Brewery. That evening marked the beginning of something special, though it came with a memorable start. I was on my way to pick her up for our first date and she told me her garage door would be open and that I could walk right in. Unfortunately, I went to the wrong house because of course I did. Thankfully, her neighbor’s garage was locked, which saved me from an awkward entrance.

Our first date left a strong impression. We quickly discovered we had a lot in common. Her dog Louie was very protective of her at first and wasn’t a big fan of me. Over time, though, he warmed up, and now we’re best friends.

As the weeks went on, our relationship grew through regular visits and falling into daily routines together. One early milestone that stands out was a family trip to the Dells. I mentioned it to my dad, who encouraged me to invite her. I assumed she would say no since it was so soon, but to my surprise, she agreed. It was her first time meeting my entire family and staying in a hotel with us. That weekend confirmed for me, and for my parents, that she was someone truly special.

When the time came to propose, it only felt right to do it at Cocoon Brewery, the place where it all began and where we had shared so many important moments.
