Jack and Olivia met during their freshman year at Auburn University in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown. For Jack and Olivia, their freshman year at Auburn University began not with tailgates or campus tours, but with Zoom lectures, online labs, and student GroupMe chats. Fate was decided when they were both thrown into the same freshman Biology class group chat at the exact time the group had reached its member maximum.

What started as casual chatting turned into a friendship, and eventually into a relationship. In October of 2020 Olivia finally managed to clear her schedule for their first official hangout where they watched Ratatouille and played Quiplash. After months of hanging out almost every day, and what seemed like the longest Winter break ever, Jack and Olivia officially began dating in early 2021. They quickly became inseparable throughout college, supporting each other through classes, life changes, and many wheelchair basketball wins and losses.

After four years together, on July 27, 2025, Jack proposed and Olivia said yes.

From a group chat in a chaotic year to planning a life together, their story is proof that the best things often come when you least expect them.
