We knew of each other for a few years before we ever realized that there was something special between us. We had both been in relationships before getting together and had sworn to 'take some time for ourselves'. That idea went right out the window when we saw each other at a friend's BBQ that summer. Olivia had already arrived, and as Shawn walked up to the porch she swore she would have to get up and leave.

"I thought that guy hated me". Shawn of course didn't hate Olivia.

A few weeks later that same friend hosted a birthday party in Indianapolis. Shawn and Olivia were invited, and Shawn nearly didn't go but heard that a certain blond, who had been living in Noblesville, would be there and had to make an appearance. That night, walking through the streets of Indianapolis Olivia overheard Shawn talking about a mountain he had hiked in Maine. She immediately whipped around and jumped into that conversation as they both tried and failed to remember the name of that mountain. From that night on they never stopped talking about mountains and all the adventures they wanted to have.

Flash forward a year and Shawn and Olivia got the opportunity they had been waiting for. Shawn got a job offer to work in Portland Maine. They packed their stuff into 1 extra large Uhaul, combined their households, and three weeks later drove to Maine to start their next adventure.

A year later, Shawn took Olivia to the best spot on her favorite beach in Maine and proposed. The next day they took a hike up that mountain that brought them together in the first place, Megunticook.
