Kyle and Olivia met the first week of freshman year at St. Joseph's High School in Trumbull, CT. Of course, Olivia fell for him right away due to his natural charisma and devilishly handsome good looks, and Kyle thought she was great too, but sadly he was just a boy not looking for anything from anyone in that regard. They remained friends through junior year, where they grew closer until Kyle fully realized how impossibly amazing (and stunningly gorgeous) Olivia was and asked her out during the class trip to Québec.

They fell in love as the years progressed and held onto each other through grueling separation through college, traveling the 600 miles from New York to North Carolina and back whenever possible, then further from Connecticut to Florida (and back). The five years spent mostly apart have only affirmed how strongly they feel for each other.

Ten years since they started dating, Kyle and Olivia are now making *official* (legal) what they've already considered their relationship to be - a true partnership living, loving, and supporting each other for the rest of their days.

For months, Kyle has been successfully deflecting, obfuscating, and outright gaslighting Olivia into believing nothing was going on. No, he had not thought about proposing to her. No, he had not looked at rings. And no, he had not talked to her parents. Meanwhile, he had secured the rock, her family's travel plans, and a venue to throw down at after the deed was done.

On December 9th, 2023, Kyle pushed Olivia out the door of their Stratford apartment for a totally normal afternoon date - a nice stroll along the beach before the sun sets and then a nice meal at Little Pub by the sea wall. Olivia soon learned that this was all a ruse, a plot to have her guard down for when he went in for the kill. Kyle stopped their walk, turned to her, and said some very nice things that neither of the couple recalls today. Yet, before Kyle could execute the final step, before one knee hit the sand, Olivia incredulously (yet excitedly) asked, "Are you proposing right now?!", and successfully ruined the master plan.

Regardless, Kyle moved forward and asked the presumptive question, and Olivia very surprisingly said "yes". But Kyle had the last laugh - he kept up one final misdirection until she was blindsided by family and friends at the venue afterwards who were more than ready to celebrate the great news.
