Olivia and Zack! Zack and Olivia! Easy question, what else have you got for me?
It's a party! We will be celebrating our thirteen years together, and our decision to go ahead and "make it legal."
What to expect:
-Karaoke! Our friend Tate will lend their professional expertise to the evening as our karaoke emcee.
-Ample tasty nibbles and desserts.
-An open bar (including some options for our dry peeps!)
What not to expect:
-Much, if any, traditional wedding stuff. We will be doing the official bit in a private ceremony at City Hall the day before (on October 4th, the day we met).
-A big sit-down dinner in fancy digs. This is in a dive bar/music venue. We are arranging some extra seating though, and there are areas that aren't directly adjacent to the stage that will be quieter if you need a break from the karaoke action.
The Empty Bottle is located on Western Ave. just south of Division St. about 4 miles west of downtown.
Why this place, you ask? Besides being a absolutely legendary Chicago music venue, it's an important landmark in our Chicago years (individually and as a couple ... most of the photo strips in our photo collage are from the Bottle!). Plus, Zack worked there for years.
The party will be from 7pm - 11pm, on Saturday October 5th 2024. Feel free to stay the whole time, or pop by for a bit whenever!
Absolutely! But fair warning: we cannot promise that there won't be any vulgar bathroom graffiti.
We're not! We have too much stuff!!
We have accumulated all the necessary accoutrement of modern life in our years of living in sin. Now we just need a place of our own to put it.
Our greatest wish is that you can come celebrate with us. However, if you want to bless this next stage of our lives with a gift, we would greatly appreciate a contribution to our home/down payment fund.
If you would like to honor us with such a gift, we humbly suggest the following ways to do that:
-you can go the "traditional" physical card route
-@Oliviaaaah or @Zack-Weil-1 on Venmo
-utilize theknot.com's built in "cash fund" registry option on this website (note, this last one includes a service fee).
So, maybe you've read the above answer and are thinking, "okay, I get that the housing market is bonkers, plus more and more folks are skipping registries these days, but I'm just a physical gift person. It's in my bones."
After cautioning you that there probably isn't a kitchen gadget in existence that we don't already have, if your heart is set on a tangible gift, you can send it to us here:

If you go that route, we hope you will consider patronizing a maker/artist/small business in your community.
