The Beginning
When Olivia was 20, she was living her college life in the San Jose State University dorms. When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, Olivia was evacuated from her dorm and was forced to temporarily move back home. Her schooling and job through San Jose State University moved fully online, and her hours got cut. To supplement lost income, she got a job at a French restaurant in downtown Paso Robles called BL Brasserie, where she met her coworker, Felicity. For the first four months, Olivia and Felicity only spent time together in groups settings with work friends, not thinking anything more than that. When Olivia left the Brasserie, over a month went by the two had seen each other, then one day out of the total blue, Felicity reached out to Olivia to see if she wanted to go grab a drink on Saint Patrick’s Day. They made the plan, and the two went out for Saint Patrick’s Day drinks at the Alchemist Garden in downtown Paso Robles. For the next two months, they started to hang a little more one on one, but remained friends. Without even knowing or realizing what was happening, they slowly built a foundation for something special.
The First Date and Becoming a Couple!
After months of being nothing but friends, Felicity asked Olivia if she’d like to get dinner with her, and in Felicity’s words “like a real date”. Olivia had no idea Felicity felt any type of way about her. Olivia said yes, and they had their first official date at Woodstocks Pizza in San Luis Obispo, where they spent over 3 hours talking in the booth and eating pizza. Many dates were planned after that, such as going to Morro Bay beach, driving on backroads, staying in and watching movies, and lots of In n Out. On May 6th, 2021, Olivia and Felicity called it official.
The Engagement
As many of you know, Olivia and Felicity LOVE Disneyland. Every year, the two buy tickets for the Disneyland After Dark Pride Night event. In November of 2023, the girls’ brains both started to hear wedding bells become louder and louder. Without the other knowing, both the girls ordered rings for other in November, and each started to plan an engagement. Olivia planned to propose in June of 2024 at the Disneyland Pride Night. Turns out, so did Felicity. But Olivia started to wonder why Felicity was acting different, and Olivia thought it was because Felicity was figuring out she was going to propose to her. Felicity had been acting different because she had been planning to propose too! The nervous energy caused both the girls to think the other was onto them, so to try and throw Felicity off her track (when Felicity was never on the track to begin with), Olivia told Felicity one day when planning their Disney day “How cheesy would that be to get engaged at Disneyland?”. Well, this threw Felicity off her whole engagement plan for Olivia and decided to not propose that night at Disneyland and plan something different. Pride Night rolls around, the girls jump in for a picture with a cast member, and Olivia pulls out a ring. Felicity was shocked and had absolutely no idea that was coming. Of course, she said yes! One month later, the couple took a celebratory day trip to Santa Cruz and decided to hit the beach boardwalk before their dinner reservation. While taking pictures in the Photo Booth, Felicity pops out Olivia’s ring and captures the moment in the booth.
