OUR STORY

Like many modern love stories, ours begins with a swipe on Tinder, yes, Tinder. We still laugh about it because, realistically, it was the only way we ever would’ve met. Olivia grew up in North Jersey and Andrew grew up in Central Jersey (the part of the state that Olivia thought didn’t exist). Olivia had her mileage set to 30 miles, while Andrew lived a solid 55 minutes away. At the time, Olivia wasn’t even at home, she was at a friend’s house, just about 30 miles from where Andrew lived. If she hadn’t been there, or if she hadn’t opened the app that day, our paths never would have crossed. Even then, Olivia didn’t think much of it when she received a message from Andrew. She wasn’t putting in much effort, fully convinced that it wouldn't lead to anything serious. Andrew, on the other hand, decided she was worth the effort and then some. He pursued a relationship, filled in the gaps where Olivia lacked, and slowly but surely, he won her over. After 2 weeks of talking, something real started to grow. Andrew asked Olivia out to dinner and she agreed. The plan was set and the first date rolled around. Olivia wanted to meet Andrew in his neck of the woods for dinner and patiently drove one hour to Middlesex where they would meet for dinner. While she was driving, Andrew called and said there was a water main break in Somerville which caused everything to shut down, including Andrew, who had no idea what to do and then went into a slight panic. Plans changed and Olivia wound up driving to Andrew's home. Unbeknown to her, she pulled in the driveway and within 15 minutes of meeting Andrew for the first time, she also received a very warm welcome from his whole family. Once her nerves calmed down and the "first look" was over all the butterflies were gone. Somehow the chaos led them to sushi, and then back to Somerville for an outdoor car show; a date that was far from perfect, but somehow exactly right for them! From there on, we were inseparable, seeing each other every weekend and having the weekend debate of Taylor Ham vs. Pork Roll each time we went to a bagel shop in Waldwick or Middlesex. Things became official at a preseason Jets vs. Giants game, where Andrew asked Olivia to be his girlfriend. While Andrew was definitely sad that the Jets beat the Giants (and Olivia had bragging rights of her team being better) he was far more excited that Olivia said yes. From that moment on, it was clear we shared the same values, the same love for sports, and the same vision for life. Fast forward to February 2025, when we took a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. What Olivia didn’t know was that Andrew had planned a surprise proposal. In a city filled with music, memories, and meaning, Andrew got down on one knee and asked Olivia to marry him. Nashville will always hold a special place in our hearts because that is where our forever began. As a couple, one of our goals is to travel to all 50 states. In just three years, we’ve already visited 9 states together, created countless memories, and built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. As we look forward to our wedding day and celebrating with the people we love the most, we often reflect on how easily this story could’ve never happened. If Olivia hadn’t been where she was… if she hadn’t opened Tinder… if Andrew hadn’t kept pursuing her… we may never have met.
