We got engaged here! This is a beautiful art museum and garden founded by the Lilly family. It's lovely to walk around outside during the day as well. They have an amazing projection art show based on Salvador Dali's art. If you haven't had a chance to enjoy an experience like The Lume, Levi and I can't recommend this enough.
We LOVE Cafe Patachou for brunch. They are known for their cinnamon toast, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It is one our must-eats for our out-of-towners!
The Stutz is a free car museum that houses classic cars as well as places to shop and eat. This is a must-see when visiting Indy.
Levi is a big Pacers fan so we have to mention Gainbridge and Bicentennial Unity Plaza. The Plaza recently opened across the street from the Pacer's home court. It's full of art displays as well as a beautiful basketball court with LED screens all underneath a 23 ft dome.
Downtown Carmel is a bustling little hotspot where you can walk around, shop, people-watch, and do it all!
There are several great restaurants and dessert places:
Bubs Burgers
Bazbeaux Pizza
Woody's Library Restaurant
Indie Coffee Roasters
Mary's Mountain Cookies
No Label at the Table (A gluten-free bakery staffed largely by people on the autism spectrum!)
Rita's Italian Ice and Frozen Custard
Also The Olive Mill - a specialty olive oil store where you can find every kind of olive oil under the sun!
In March, Olivia and Audrey participated in Indy's first Book Crawl - where a collection of independent bookstores partnered together to create a fun contest and encouraged shopping local. We loved this one in West Carmel. They carry lots of different genres in a space that feels so special compared to a franchised store.
This is a great place to go shopping. There are so many stores that are harder to find like Aritzia, Madewell, Alo, Lululemon, Pottery Barn, and William Sonoma.
Want to see a movie and enjoy a good meal? Flix is a great spot where you don't have to settle for popcorn but can have a full meal. That new SNL movie looks great right?
Great activity if you're looking to hang outside.
Levi and I love Smallcakes. They have an amazing selection of weekly flavors. They offer gluten-free, vegan, and gluten-free AND vegan cupcakes.
