Driving Up to the Ceremony SpaceIf someone cannot take the steps up to this ceremony site, they absolutely can be driven up. You can drive all the way up to the tree on the grass to assist whoever cannot walk up the steps. 😊

A shuttle will be available to take guests to the wedding venue from The Desmond and back when the night is over. The shuttle bus will be leaving the Desmond Hotel to go to the ceremony at The Washington at 4:20pm. The bus will be back at The Washington at the end of the night to take guests who are staying at the Desmond back to the hotel at 11pm. The bus will wait for guests at the end of the night and they also wont leave without DJ and I, so no worries. The bus is only taking one trip each way, so if you miss the bus you will have to get yourself to the venue or back to the hotel.

Originally built around 1750, this building served as a colonial inn and tavern when the village of Yellow Springs was a fashionable spa. During the American Revolution, General Washington did indeed sleep here and visited the soldiers who were recovering in the Yellow Springs hospital he commissioned in the village in 1777. During the 19th century, the building was used as a dining facility and dormitory for the orphans of Civil War Soldiers, and the early 20th century this wonderful building was used as a dining hall and dorm for the young artists of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Our wedding ceremony will be held at the Loving Tree, just in front of the remnants of the Revolutionary War hospital. After the matrimonial proceedings, we're inviting you to the brick room for the cocktail hour. This space serves a dual purpose, functioning not only as an area for socializing but also as a miniature museum, offering an opportunity to delve into the historical narrative of the building. Concluding the festivities, the dessert table will be elegantly arranged, once having served its purpose in the dining hall of the children's orphanage.
