Our Wedding

Olivia and Landon met their freshman year at UMHB, where they both attended college. They met at a worship event that UMHB puts on for the students each year. As Liv and Landon grew closer, they realized they both had fallen for each other. Landon made a couple of moves on Liv but they knew that the timing wasn’t where the Lord needed it to be. As they both went on with life, through different relationships and different seasons, they both remained consistent in each other’s lives. There was growth that needed to happen in both of them to prepare their hearts for what was to come. Two years later, they were both in the same place at the same time and life had calmed down.&nbsp; “Landon and I were supposed to get dinner with a friend and the friend ended up canceling. I secretly wanted it to happen but didn’t know if he still felt the same. Landon always told me he was going to marry me, before we even started dating. I never knew what he meant and I always thought it was a joke. I think it took me two years to realize how great of a guy I had right in front of me. My mom always told me to find someone who is always willing to lay down their pride for you. Landon is the most humble man I know and that’s when it clicked for me. I knew I was in love that night after dinner. I knew it before but I REALLY knew it then.” (Liv) Two years ago all their friends and family supported their relationship and when it finally happened two years later, it was such a joyful time. Liv and Landon both know that this is where the Lord has them for a purpose. They rely on him for their strength; in life and in their relationship. They know this life is temporary and want to spend it honoring the Lord and fulfilling his commandments in marriage.&nbsp;

"Throughout our lives, we have a constant desire in our hearts to find the one we will spend forever with. There are many ups and downs that come with that but the beauty comes from a loving Father delivering even more than you could ever imagine. The very first time Liv and I hung out as friends I knew there was something special about her and I had to have it. All of a sudden the reality of a promise began to spring in front of my eyes. Could this be the girl I have prayed for all of these years? Although dating Liv did not happen in the timing that I would have liked, God gave me the opportunity to be patient and seek him. I began to cherish Liv as God sees her. During our time as a couple, I got to see her character in action as she challenged me to grow in my faith and work on areas to better myself as a man. Today we are engaged and Liv is my crown jewel&nbsp;on this earth. She is my greatest treasure. I am so excited to love and pursue this woman for the rest of my days" (Landon)
