Back in 2011, a new Euphonium player at DePaul struck up a conversation with me during a rehearsal for Hindemith's March from Symphonic Metamorphosis. He later asked me to go to a Chicago Symphony Orchestra concert with him to experience the incredible brass playing in Bruckner's 7th Symphony. He saved me a seat next to him and we fell in love with the music together. After that concert, Brad pursued me for a month as a great friend - we listened to the Beatles together, listened to the second movement of Bruckner 7 on repeat for hours, stayed up late working on finals together, and brought each other lunch when we were working hard at school.

After being courted for a period of time, I finally gave in! Five years, a puppy, and a move to Rhode Island later, Brad and I took a trip to the Bahamas with his family. On a beautiful Wednesday night, August 3rd, Brad took me to Luciano's of Chicago as an homage to where we met. After dinner, we walked along a pier while the sun set and Brad asked me to marry him.

We cannot wait to continue our lives together and look forward to celebrating with our closest friends and family! And don't worry, we still play Bruckner 7 on repeat and remember that first concert we went to together.
