Q + A
What time does it start?
The church service will start at 11am on the 24th October 2025.
Please be there at least 10 minutes beforehand. If you're early, you're welcome to join Aaron for a drink in The Vines, adjacent to the church, in the meantime.
Where is the service and the reception?
The Church service will be at St Marys in Black Bourton followed by a reception at The Old Gore in Cirencester, a very scenic 33 minute drive away.
Is there parking?
In short, yes, but not a great deal at either. A lot of people will park in The Vines car park and walk over to the Church, others may park outside, but please do so with consideration as Black Bourton is a small village.
We recommended letting a lift to the church, then car sharing to the venue or car share with people staying at the same accommodation as you.
Is there a gap between the service and the reception?
Yes, but only a short one! Due the 33 minute drive we're allowing an hour between leaving the venue and starting our reception, if you're early to the venue, don't panic! Just grab a parking space and have a wonder, it's a beautiful spot for some candids and those all important couple photos.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, bring your A-game!
Think autumnal wedding chic...
Are children allowed?
Our venue, seating plan, church and reception have been planned around the people who have been invited, meaning there are no plus ones allowed or children. You will see two children there that day - our nephews - they have very important jobs to do and are being paid to attend (not really, but they are VIPs).
What time is bedtime?
It's carriages from the venue at 11:30pm, what you do after you leave is absolutely not our business!
Can I wear my heels?!
I feel this question needed to be answered for our heel-wearing guests!
Yes, you can wear your heels without fear of sinking, there is a small amount of grass area but majority is wood flooring or gravel.
Where can I stay?
There is no accomodation at the venue, therefore you will either need to pre-book your accommodation, book a taxi, hop in the coach, or drive (sober, please). There's a list of accomodation here - https://www.yardspace.co.uk/oldgore/accommodation
