We grew up together, which means we’ve had front-row seats to all the good, the bad, and the beautiful.

We met in Kindergarten at Neighborhood Christian School all the way back in 2002. As much as we’d love to tell you that’s where our love story began, that’s not exactly how it happened.

First, we had to survive Olivia’s Dora the Explorer haircut era. We spent most of our early years in an intense recess rivalry, trading playground insults like it was our full-time job. At one point, Brett went home from school and literally told his mom, “I hate that Olivia.”

As time went on, it became awkward school dances, braces, questionable fashion choices, and all the other fun phases that come with growing up.

Then… puberty hit.

Suddenly, the kid who spent years getting under your skin didn’t seem quite so annoying anymore. So Brett took a chance, and at the last dance of 8th grade, he asked Olivia to dance. After that, it was a summer filled with late-night Facebook chats and painfully awkward pickup lines like “Hey hot stuff” and “Hey cutie.”

Then, on August 7, 2011, it became official.

Brett asked Olivia to be his girl at the Solano County Fair, the two snuck out to meet up at 5:00 in the morning to steal a kiss behind the barn. From that day forward, Olivia was his girl.

The years that followed were filled with firsts, adventures, laughter, growing up, and building a life together. We’ve celebrated the highs, navigated the lows, and somehow managed to like each other through every phase in between.

After 15 years of dating and nearly 25 years of knowing each other, we finally decided we better make it official.

We’re so grateful to celebrate this next chapter with all of the people who have been part of our story along the way. Thank you, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
