Alex and I first met on a Sunday, during what my sister and cousin Michelle had planned as a casual “Sunday Fun Day.” Michelle’s boyfriend, Zues, decided to invite his friend Alex along to join us. When I opened the door, Alex later told me he was blown away by what he saw—even though I wasn’t dressed up and looked pretty casual, somehow, he saw something beautiful in me right away. The day slipped into the evening, and we spent time together with just the slightest bit of flirting, but when the night ended, Alex left without asking for my number. A few days passed, and I decided to give fate a little nudge. I texted my cousin, telling her, “You can give him my number if you want.” Alex, not wanting to seem too eager, waited a week before texting me! We finally set up our first date at Charro Vida, and the connection only grew from there. Ten months later, Alex planned the perfect proposal. With the help of my family, they transformed a backyard into a romantic oasis filled with candles and flowers. When I walked outside, the whole scene felt like something out of a dream. There, under the stars, surrounded by everything that felt like home, Alex asked me to be his forever. And the rest? Well, we’re writing it together.
