The year was 2013, we were both freshmen in high school. Devon was new to Hudson High and we met through mutual friends. Through the years we drifted apart and in 2019 we reconnected when Devon invited me out to Wunderbar for drinks. We talked for hours catching up and reminiscing about our high school days, and we have been together ever since!

We were on vacation with our friends in Maine and decided to go to see Nubble Lighthouse that day. The sky was crystal clear, until we got about 5 minutes from the lighthouse. All you could see was this dense fog, we couldn't even see the lighthouse. We walked down the rocks, took some pictures and Devon said to me “I think there’s a duck out there in the water”. I turned to look at it and when I turned back around he was on one knee asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes!

He chose this moment to ask me because my grandmother’s health was declining and he wanted her to know all of her granddaughters were with their forever partners. He brought joy to a hard time for our family, and for that I am forever grateful.
