Olivia and Austin’s story begins in the summer of 2017. They both had been working at Seafari Springs as lifeguards in Hanover Park for 2 summers together. They realized their love & fondness for one another after attending an annual country music festival in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin and bonding over their like of country music. After only dating for a month and a half, Austin had to leave Illinois that September to spend 3 months studying abroad in Europe for his junior year of college while Olivia stayed in Illinois for her senior year of nursing school. Knowing they would be separate for months at a time for the next 2 years with Austin at Arizona State & Olivia at Aurora University…they were left with a decision to make. After understanding each other’s goals and feelings towards one another, they decided to try a long distance relationship. There was minimal communication during this time because of schedules and time changes but whenever they saw each other in-person the spark was always there, so they continued to make it work. FaceTime & text messaging became pivotal tools in their long distance relationship with the occasional holiday trip home or visit to Arizona. After each of them graduated, they both had their eyes set on living in Chicago. They went on many adventures and travelled to places together like Arizona, Boston, Las Vegas, Colorado, & Punta Cana with family. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 they both saved up enough money to move to the city of Chicago and lived separately with their friends. Austin lived in Wicker Park while Olivia lived in Wrigleyville. The couple were fortunate enough to travel more (Florida, Nashville, Minnesota), attend some festivals (Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Windy City Smokeout), and catch many beloved sporting games (Bears, Cubs, Bulls, White Sox, Blackhawks). After a couple years of living apart, Austin and Olivia decided to move in together and live in Lincoln Park. In September of 2022, they went on their long planned European get-away. They visited Barcelona, Paris, Cinque Terra, and Florence. On September 10th, in Paris, halfway through their trip Austin surprised Olivia by planning a picnic in a park called Bois de Boulogne (twice the size of New York’s Central Park). There in the heart of nature and under a drizzle of unplanned rain Austin asked Olivia for her hand in marriage. She said YES!! After an unforgettable trip they continue to share memories and grow in love together. They can’t wait to share their lives.
