Our Wedding

It all started in October 2022. I met Wes when a group of friends played pickleball (he doesn't even remember meeting me at this time smh). I thought he was so cute but he was a newer friends older brother (kind of a no no) (spoiler, it's ok because now she's my roommate and best friend hehe). The weeks to follow consisted of bible study hosted at his parents house, more pickleball, and camping trips. During this time I got to know Wes a little better. He asked me out on a mini golf date that November (I beat him but was soon to find out that that's a very rare occasion). We sat and talked for hours over Chick-fil-a (ya he already knew the way to my heart on the first date). After the very first date I knew it was going to be something special. I can't explain it but it felt different than anything I had experienced before. The months after I learned more of Wes' character. He is equally as competitive as me, if not more. He is the best at everything he does (he beat my dad in cornole multiple times, that's saying something). He loves me better than anyone I have ever known. He leads me closer to Christ, and is an example of Jesus' character everyday. I had a front row seat to the most genuine, fun, and loving person. In just one short year Wes became my very best friend and someone I could not imagine doing this life without. Now, I am writing this in sweatpants and a ring on my finger to confirm that "when you know you know" is not just a myth. It's real people.

Liv's POV

In August of 2022, I felt a strong calling from the Lord to move out to Phoenix. Other than my parents just recently moving out to Arizona and my younger sister Abby going to college at GCU, I truly had no idea why the Lord would nudge me to move away from my hometown. September of 2022 I packed up and began taking care of everything I needed to do to make the move happen, by the first weekend of October I had already hit the road. Still not truly knowing why the Lord was calling me to Arizona, I decided to jump in head first and obey what I believed he was telling me to do. Little did I know, I would shortly after meet the love of my life. Liv claims the first time we met was at the pickleball courts at GCU, but I don’t remember seeing her…oops. Shortly after I moved to Phoenix, Abby asked me if I wanted to go on a camping trip with her and her friends from GCU. Not knowing anyone else in the valley my age, I happily went with her. This is the first time I remember talking to, and actually getting to know who Olivia was. From that point on she caught my eye. She and I both attended the same church, and we were both going to a small group that was hosted at my parents house. Knowing that Liv was becoming close friends with Abby, I didn’t know if she was “off limits” or not. Eventually I decided that whether she was off limits or not I finally decided to ask her out on a first date to go play putt putt. Unfortunately she did end up beating me, and her competitiveness was one of the first things I noticed about her on our first date. We decided to keep going on dates and spending time with each other until I decided to make it official that following December. For the months moving forward I knew that Olivia was special, and that the relationship we were starting was definitely a gift from the Lord. The characteristics I saw in Liv as we spent a full year together assured me that she was the woman who I would want to eventually call my wife. The love of Jesus shines so brightly through Olivia and she has been a great example of how to love others like Jesus. Our love for eachother has done nothing but grow over the past year and we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together. After looking back on the last year and a half of my life, I truly do believe that the Lord called me out to Phoenix not only to grow in my faith but to also meet the love of my life. God is so good, and Liv and I cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
