Omani Cummings was born and raised in Malvern, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. He attended Munro College for seven years before pursuing his dream of becoming a mechanical engineer at the University of Technology. Throughout this period, he maintained an interest in farming, jogging, and cars even becoming an entrepreneur during his spare time. Marisleysis “Lacey” Majurie, born in Spring Park, St Elizabeth, Jamaica, moved to Canada at age 13. She attended Hampton school for a year, before migrating to Canada then returned to complete high school at Bishop Gibson. After graduating, she pursued a career as an inpatient adult/pediatric surgical nurse in Canada. Throughout these changes, her friendship with Omani strengthened. Omani and Lacey met through a mutual friend during their first year of high school and instantaneously clicked, that summer of 2013 a seed was planted that foresaw the growth of a beautiful friendship that later blossomed into so much more. The two became inseparable, from long phone calls to deep conversations, they became best friends, never truly meeting until the summer of 2016. Through many seasons the two celebrated in each others’ successes and supported each other through the hurdles life often throw their way. But it was worth it all in the end because here they are 11 years later, strong as ever and reaping the fruit of their labors. Omani and Lacey enjoyed each other's company, sharing late-night study sessions on video chats (though they didn't understand each other's material), weekend football games (despite not knowing the outcome), and watching sunsets with deep conversations or meals (food was always involved). After years of being told by others about their relationship (which they denied), Omani decided to advance their friendship. In the summer of 2024, following a birthday letter to Lacey, Omani chose to propose on June 1st, which coincidentally was his parents' anniversary. Lacey accepted the proposal, marking the beginning of their engagement.Omani and lacey can’t wait to celebrate this moment with you, as their love continues to bloom. “Love is in bloom" means that&nbsp;a loving feeling or relationship is developing and growing, often in a vibrant and positive way, similar to a flower opening and flourishing”

Lacey and I met in first year nursing school. She was  shy, quiet girl who was always sleepy, in fact one of the first memories of how we met was me waking Lacey up in MMI cause she was SNORING like a bear in class lol.  Although she denies it I too was a shy introvert who never talked to people but somehow we became friends and as the years went on; Lacey and I naturally became like sisters. When I introduced her to my family they were all shocked I found someone just like me who also likes anime. Over the years, I’ve come to know Lacey as the silly girl who goes absolutely above and beyond for everyone in her life. Everyday I thank God I met Lacey and we became friends. Today I consider her a little sister and she calls me mommy bear. Because one thing about me is I refuse to let anyone bully Lacey lol. My children consider her an aunty the smiles they have on their faces when they see aunty makes my heart smile 😊 I’m honored  to share in Lacey's special day as she marries the love of her life 
*Fun fact*: Growing up my favorite tv channel was the history channel.  I love Learning about the history of different places and cultures I could spend hours watching documentaries.

Nyasha Matengu

I've known Omani for basically half my life. We met in back in 2012 at the city set on a hill, Munro College. We were in different classes at the time but he's a tall guy, definitely couldn't miss him. One of the smarter ones at that. We had so much respect for him we had to start calling him "Elder". Fast forward couple years later and we're successfully running our own crime syndicate after infiltrating the school's political system (we were prefects making a bank selling snacks and juice on campus). From that to suffering through the same major in university, to now working in similar fields and different capacities, it's safe to say he has and will always be my brother for life.

Brandon Daley

I have known Mars for almost 12 years now. As far as I know, I’m the only person who calls her this name. I first met her in grade 8 of January 2014 when the teacher asked her to accompany me to the choir club theatre, and then from that on, I have no idea as to how it all started of how our friend group just clicked together as I was new and we were all introverts at school. Among us she was the tallest and I was the shortest. Mars was the quietest among us but deep inside she is the most caring, kindest, and lovable person I have ever met. Her hugs are the warmest hugs you could ever give to a person. She is the planet mars in my universe. 

*Fun Fact*: Other than Philippines (Home Country) and Canada (Second Home), Jamaica is the 6th country I have ever visited and will plan to visit more countries in the future.

Gillian Rose Auteda 

From being mistaken for each other during track and field training, to taking advantage of our roles as school leaders selling snacks on campus, Omani had been less of a friend and more of a brother for over 10 years. 
We have a long and quite interesting history that could be talked about for hours. However,  to cut it short, since I've met him in 2013 I've gotten the opportunity to undoubtedly call this man a brother and friend for life.

Back In the summer of 2021, I had moved from Toronto to Fort Mcmurray. I had decided to start fresh in a city I didn't know . I only knew family here and that's how I met Lacey . Lacey and my sister were classmates as well as friends. I remember seeing Lacey the first time at my sister's house. She was in the backyard patio when I went to go say hi. She was quiet from the beginning and so was I. She used to call me Lorraine before she was comfortable calling me Rudo because I remember saying only people close to me call me Rudo. So Overtime, our friendship grew and we got to know one another pretty well . We constantly picked at each other out of sister love. Lacey has been a part of my adult hood life for over five years now and I love how we can just call each other to hang out and spill tea like we haven't been apart. We are indeed yappers. Her work schedule versus my work schedule , yes you can guess that I never really get to see her so this part of our friendship is major. It's lovely how my mom and the rest of my family have welcomed her into the family. Everywhere we go people mistake me, her and my sister as siblings and we just roll with it. From being strangers to sisters, we are like two peas in a pod. We can't leave each other alone and we can't shut up ahaha

Rudo "Lorraine" Matengu

Lacey was one of my first friends after moving to Alberta in middle school. We quickly went from being the quiet, shy new kids to sitting together in class eating Skittles, peanut M&M’s, and mini marshmallows. Or being told art class was not a beauty salon (turns out, doing a friend’s hair doesn’t count as an art project, lol). I remember how she would always be the first to buy at least two of my Purdys Chocolate Bars for my dance team fundraising (AND turn around and share some). This really speaks to the kind of person she is—one of the most supportive and thoughtful people I know! She always prioritizes the people around her and never fails to be there when you need it the most, putting a smile on your face.
*Fun fact*: I am a massive book nerd and could spend hours in a used bookstore—especially if there’s coffee involved!

Kaitlyn Vandenbilche 

Omani and I met in first year of university we studied the same degree hence we were in all the same class 
If not we made sure we were because he was also apart of a bigger group of students that we made that was called GAMBLING IS A NO NO.
We were not good friends at first I knew Brandon more and then got to know him after  .
Omani is a kind and thoughtful person who always considers others, a loyal and supportive friend who is always there to lend a listening ear.
He and many of our other friends are more reserved which compliments that side of my personality and he is my g ever since university.

Dajey Garwood

*Maris and I work together in the surgery unit since the year she graduated.
When I met her, she was a shy and quiet person but when you get to know her, I didn't know she gives SAVAGE answers. DANGGG
Whenever we're on the same shift, we always have a "hug break"- we just hug each other tightly for a few seconds when we pass each other by the hallway in order for us to lift each others spirits to survive our shifts. I'm glad she doesn't suffocate every time.

We met back in 2015, high school, doing Track and Field, the team had an Elite athletes camp around Christmas and he was bros with my bros, we trained, hanged out  and we just became lifelong bros.
Fun Fact: I love self improvement and books about wealth.  

DéVaughn Watson

﻿I first met Lacey in nursing school, back when she was the quiet girl in the third row of our anatomy class. Seriously, she was the definition of "early bird" . She'd show up around 7:30 AM, a full hour before class started, and just sit there, all calm and composed, like she had already conquered the day. Meanwhile, me and Nyasha were rolling in right on the dot (if we were lucky), half-awake, desperately trying to remember what we ate for breakfast, let alone all the muscles in the human body.
I always admired her ability to be so organized. I mean, she was ALWAYS  on top of things. Me and Nyasha, both juggling being moms, would often get distracted, but she would just quietly pull us back into the task at hand. She was like our very own personal nurse manager, without the title! If it wasn’t for her, we’d probably still be looking for the right page in our textbooks, wondering where the time went.
But the thing that really stands out is watching her transform. From that shy, early morning student in the third row to the confident, amazing nurse she is now. It’s honestly been such a beautiful thing to witness. She went from keeping a low profile to owning the room with her positive energy, radiant smile, and a kindness that shines through no matter where she goes. 

Seeing her blossom into this strong, confident woman who lights up the room reminds me just how much of an impact one person can have. She's not just a fantastic nurse, but an even better friend , her heart, smile, and energy are infectious in the best way possible. I’m beyond honored to stand by her as she gets ready to take on this next chapter of her life!

Kaha Ali

Omani is my older brother, I have always admired him growing up he has always been such a positive role model to me. With a seven year age gap I have had the opportunity to witness him set the stage for what a successful, ambitious, kind and supportive man should be. It brings me such privilege and honor to wear the title " Groomsman" for the man who set the standard to which I aspire to surpass. Love you bro can't wait until the roles are reversed.
Fun Fact: I eat twice as much as Omani, you wouldn't be able to tell from my size.

Lacey is my work bestie, all I know is that we met at work. We were meant to be friends because I don't remember when or how we became one, we just clicked and I am thankful that we are.
