The Family of the COUPLE

Picture of The Family of the COUPLE

My sweet daughter, I am proud that I get to experience the joy of giving you away in marriage. We have prayed, and God has answered, and now, this man we have prayed for will take you as his wife, for better or worse. This specific God-ordained pairing of two young people claiming Jesus as their Savior, joining together to live for Christ the rest of their days. I don’t know about you, but it overwhelms me. I couldn't be more proud of the young woman you have matured into, headstrong and confident, stubborn and feisty, loving and giving, sweet and sassy. You are my child, my daughter! The speck within me that has been loved and cherished since conception.

Just as implied by your beautiful name, you have always brought me good tidings and great joy and I pray that your union with Toluwani will stand the test of time. By the grace of God, your marriage will be fruitful in every area and you will bring Tolu just as much happiness and peace as you have brought to my life. I Love you always.

Toluwani, since you were born, I have prayed about this day, and God has answered my prayer by giving me additional daughter; Damilola. Don't let anybody tell you marriage is 50/50, it is most certainly not. You both have to give more than 100% in your marriage to stay happy. You need to be patient, stay in God’s words and make prayer a part of your daily life. Focus on Ephesians 5:25-30, it talks about Sacrifice, Grace, Gentleness, Compassion, Comfort.. Thats a tall order son and it requires a lot of you, but as you unite with your wife, make the Holy Spirit your companion and I declare the peace and mercy of God upon your life, I proclaim His wisdom and knowledge for you so that you learn to navigate the tides and turns in marriage and with God on your side, I’m confident that it is well with your marriage.

My name is Boluwatife Adubi, Bolu for short. I’m Tolu’s only brother and have known him my whole life. I got to know Dami a couple of years ago and it’s been a joy to experience her join the Adubi family. Fun fact: I’m a competitive powerlifter
Moyo Omowabi
Moyo Omowabi - Chief Bridesmaid
I have known Dami and Tolu for 17 years. In fact, they were both my school parents. So, this wedding is mine as much as theirs. I remember the first time Dami spoke about Tolu to me, she was so excited and I understood why, Tolu was different in a perfect way. He was fine, he was smart and perfect! Tolu came back into dami’s life at a time she needed him the most. It was God’s perfect way of reminding Dami that he loves her. Dami spoke about Tolu, she sounded happier than I had heard her in years and I knew it was forever this time. Tolu came with such seriousness and he played no games. With Dami and Tolu, there’s never a dull moment on the phone with them, they both have a strong sense of wit that compliments the other and you can tell that they genuinely want to die there with each other. When they asked me to be their chief bridesmaid, I said yes immediately. This was the moment I had waited years for. So to Dami and Tolu, I love you momma and pops. And I wish you guys a wonderful marriage filled with love, laughter and happiness. Can’t wait to be a god-mother, I have been waiting a long time for that as well!
Opeyemi Ajaiyeoba
Opeyemi Ajaiyeoba - Groomsman
I go by Opey. Ive known Tolu and Dami since highschool (ISI) even though I never said a word to either of them back then. I officially met Tolu in 2011 when he came to Wichita State for his Bachelors. We seamlessly became very close real quick because we're both super passionate about the samethings (from playing musical instruments at church to recently developed gadgets and processes in the engineering world). Tolu is more than a friend to me, he's my brother period. Dami always brings light and excitement to anywhere she enters or anything she touches. I'm so proud of the woman she has become and how she compliments my brother. I wish you both the best life has to over. Fun fact: I'm an Aerospace engineer trying to make pigs fly literally. Also, myself and TJ get married exactly 4 weeks apart so I'm accepting donations too 🤣.
Precious Oluwafemi
Precious Oluwafemi - Bridesmaid
I met Tolu Adubi in Wichita Kansas. We attended the same college and we were part of the choir at victory house. Calm and sharp guy. I always said the kind of favor Tolu always receives from God no be for here!!! Then my Dami came along, fine babe!! I met Dami on a trip to Chicago with a couple of friends and we just clicked! Dami is that friend that you always want in your corner, her mouth is sharp but her heart is impeccable. I love you both and I am so excited to celebrate you guys!! Here is to more joy, laughter, peace, more moneys😇 and babies in Jesus name.
Oluwatayo Olojede
Oluwatayo Olojede - Groomsman
My name is Oluwatayo Raphael Olojede. I’ve been a friend of the couple from my time at wichita. Tolu and I once played in a church band and he has also proven to be a worthy Fifa opponent, an adept thinker with an executive personality. Dami on the other hand simply adds light, color, energy and depth to the sketch of Tolu that I knew before he met her. It’s like the story of Pinocchio, but this time, she made him a real man. Fun fact: I’m 5’11 ish. Love my guitar, a good game of chess and a long drive with my best rock playlist blasting over the stereo in the summer heat.
Bukunmi Adubi
Bukunmi Adubi - Bridesmaid
I never found a perfect definition of love until i watched Damy and Tolu’s relationship. Watching them finish off each other’s sentences, laughing, smiling together, and falling in love over and over again, makes me realize how thankful I am that they found each other. My brother found a rare treasure that people rarely discover and he gets to share that with an amazing woman. To me, they are the perfect depiction of love.
Chukwudi Eziashi
Chukwudi Eziashi - Groomsman
My name is Chukwudi Eziashi and I've known Tj and Dami for a while now. I've witnessed their relationship grow and evolve over time, and even though they possess completely different personalities, their level of chemistry is off the chart. Needless to say, I am super excited and honored to be chosen to be a part of their special day.
Victoria Akintunde
Victoria Akintunde - Bridesmaid
Hey Guys! My name is Victoria! Back when I met Dami, most called me London. It’s actually crazy that I’ve been asked to be one of Dami’s trusted bridesmaids, it’s truly and honor. She’s given me so much of the simplest joys in my life, and the grandest laughs, she has such a great character and a fantastic personality. Funny story! The first memory I have of Damilola is when she was dropping me off somewhere on the UH campus, literally yelling at the pedestrians “Look at the way this one is walking, like their father owns the road!” From then I knew she was a correct individual of course. The friendship was solidified. That was the very first day I met her. We kept in touch ever since, made music together, talked about the struggles of medical school, distracted each other a thousand and one times and partied like 2020 wasn’t coming with its own wahala. Overall Damilola is a gem! Can’t wait to see this girl happily married to this her fiancé I’ve only seen on FaceTime! May their marriage be so filled with love and acceptance that it fills the hearts of those around them too.
Olajide Adeoti
Olajide Adeoti - Groomsman
My name is Olajide Adeoti and I have known Tolu and Dami for at least 16 years. I've witnessed their relationship grow ever since high school. It’s definitely a beautiful story of love and I am privileged to have watched them grow personally and then together over the years. I am honored and super excited to be chosen to be a part of this celebration of love. It’s not everyday you are literally on both sides of the wedding families.
Jennifer Shoboiki
Jennifer Shoboiki - Bridesmaid
Dami and I met about 6/7 years ago and we’ve been friends ever since. We got close really fast and One thing I picked up in such a short period of time about Dami is how real she is…sometimes too real. If you need a friend to tell you exactly what it is, Dami is your girl! I remember when Dami first told me about Tolu, I wasn't sure what to expect but I noticed some changes in Dami as her relationship progressed, good changes. It's always a blessing when you have a partner that can uplift you in areas of your life you didn't even know you needed help with and I'm glad Dami found that in Tolu. I pray it continues to stay that way. Tolu continue to treat my girl right.. I know where you live.
Timilehin Adubi
Timilehin Adubi - Groomsman
My name is Timilehin Adubi, I would describe myself as a calm and collected individual. I first met my cousin Tolu at a family dinner in 2018 and met Dami during Thanksgiving the following year. I usually see the couple every year during the holiday season. A couple facts about me: I play basketball, I am a photographer, and I have just started getting into boxing.
Funto Adubi
Funto Adubi - Bridesmaid
Dami Dami Dami! I had heard this name for quite a bit growing up and got to know her quite well over the past like 3yrs. There's so much to love about her, but my two big ones are her confidence and the fact that she's can always be counted upon. I'm uber excited to be a part of this day for you guys and I wish you both everything I wish myself and much much more.
Ayomide Akinokun
Ayomide Akinokun - Groomsman
My name is Ayomide Akinokun - lover of life and perpetual clown. I’m TJ’s cousin and in a very short time, I’ve felt a lot of warmth and a welcoming disposition. I’m incredibly honoured to be sharing this special day with him and his lovely wife-to-be, Ore. Fun fact: I’m 6 ft 7, and have only touched a basketball but 5 times in this life. I’m an IT consultant and an actor. If you like my face, cast me in your next project.
Princess Boyo
Princess Boyo - Bridesmaid
Dami and I met through a mutual friend in 2016. I loved her confidence, intellect, musical talent, vibrant personality, and ability to make anyone around her crack a smile. Since then, we have shared many memorable laughs, meals, adventures, debates, day-long phone conversations, and even professional dreams. When I met Tolu, he instantly became someone who I enjoyed, admired, and could also call a friend. His charm, demeanor, and noble character compliments Dami beautifully. Over the years, their relationship has been a model of wholeness, authenticity, and resilience for us all. I am honored to have witnessed their growth inside and outside the relationship and even more honored to be a witness of their lifelong matrimony. I pray that we are blessed with many more joyous memories together and that their love only grows deeper with each new year of marriage.
Samuel David
Samuel David - Groomsman
My name is Samuel David. I’ve known Tolu and Dami for some years now. They are exceptional individuals and I love what they have become together. I’m honored to be a part of this union ceremony and I can’t wait to bring the energy! Blessings to your union.
Mofe Wyse
Mofe Wyse - Bridesmaid
Damilola, you are truly the older sister I have been blessed with. I grew up looking up to you and for so long, I remember wanting to sing just because you could. From the sleepovers in Surulere, to the Bankolemoh rice, to the nights we spent in Ibadan, and to the numerous birthday parties, it brings me so much joy to share these memories with you and call you my sister. I am so happy you have found your forever love. I pray this new chapter in life that you are about to start brings you both nothing short of joy, happiness, peace and success. I pray that God blesses your union and I wish you and Tolu a happy married life.
Olamide David Akinokun
Olamide David Akinokun - Groomsman
My name is Olamide David Akinokun, Cornell University graduating class of 2021, and soon to be a Technology Consultant. I like to think of myself as funny and somewhat intelligent, but no one seems interested in confirming either of those things, likely in fear of what it would do to the size of my ego. I’m a cousin to the groom — TJ, and I’m excited to be part of this momentous day in his life and in the life of his wonderful wife-to-be — Ore. Fun Fact/Hobby: I have a big love for sneakers/shoes. I like to think of them as exotic sports cars for your feet, until such a time where I obtain an actual exotic sports car.
Tayo Olojede
Tayo Olojede - bridesmaid
My name is Temitayo Olojede. I met the couple through my then boyfriend (now husband) and Dami’s comment to him was “your girlfriend looks like she will beat me up” lol. As time passed I got to know the couple well. Meeting the couple, you could tell that Dami was the energetic one and Tolu was the one hanging on to her every word. And as I got to know the couple more I’ve seen just how much they balance each other. Where Dami is unfiltered and tells you how it is, Tolu lets her be herself proud to call her his. I’ve gotten to witness their love for people, a love that draws you in where you can’t help but want to be around them. Along with their love story, a story that proves that what is meant to be yours will be, so I pray for them a life of happiness and a love that stands the test of time.
