We met in 2020, the year of Covid. We like to say we met through our friends Abbey and Patton, because it sounds a little more romantic than saying "we met online," which thanks to Emily, she gently nudged one of us into agreeing to a first date. That date turned out to be great. It was so great, in fact, that after saying goodbye at the door. Oscar came back to give me my dinner leftovers I left in the truck. Then came back again to say good bye. And again for a first kiss. (Three times!) We knew after the first date that we would be spending the rest of our lives together. Life threw us the challenge of long distance. We did three years of texts, video calls, and learning how to feel close even when we were far apart. It wasn’t always easy, but it showed us just how much this was worth it. Lucky for us Micaela has summers off and we spent our summers doing what we love to do, traveling. Now we’re finally in the same place, and ready for the next chapters of our lives together.
