Pete and Paige found each other during high school and even attended prom and homecoming together. They dated for several years in high school, and went their separate ways during their college days. After being apart for almost a decade, the stars aligned and they found each other once again. Pete reached out to Paige, with a gentle nudge from his brother in-law, hoping just to catch up. To his surprise she actually answered him, and they began texting and catching up. Paige had to drive from NC to PA the next day, and she spent her entire eight hour drive on the phone with him. For their first date, after ten years, Paige wanted to meet at Latta Plantation. A place that was special to her, as she often took her dogs there to hike and swim. She asked him "Are you sure you want to meet my dogs? They're kind of a lot" and when she said "Absolutely!" the date was set. The second they saw each other in person they both knew they were in for it. Paige went into the date thinking "He will always just be a friend." but the second she saw him she knew it was over. They quickly realized they were meant to be together, and made up for lost time. Pete realized how much Latta meant to Paige, and knew it would eventually be the place he asked her to marry him. The moment was priceless as it was the same spot they relit their flame several years before. Paige never expected him to ask, and it came as a complete surprise. Paige had a very hard week when her cat had an emergency and was fighting for her life at the vet. The night before the engagement Paige told Pete "Whenever you ask make sure it's not at a time like this." That absolutely scared Pete, knowing his plans were to ask her to marry him the next day, but he stuck to his plan. Pete had planned every detail to throw her off of the scent and her saying that the night before sealed the deal. He told her they were going to Latta to take pictures to hang in his parents new house, and that was the excuse to get them both dressed up. He set up a tripod behind them with the water in the background. They pretended to take a few pictures and when they turned around he got down on one knee. The surprise was amazing and so many emotions came flooding in for both of them. He even had it planned so their families, and her best friend Olivia were there to greet them after the engagement. Her cat was also able to make a full recovery, which allowed them to enjoy their big day even more. Paige said yes, and they cannot wait to celebrate with all the people who are dear to them!
