Our Wedding

When I was 17 years old my friend and&nbsp;I were&nbsp;at a Fort Madison baseball game returning a glove to one of the players.&nbsp;On the way out of the baseball park I heard yelling from the field. I glanced over to see if something exciting was going on in the game and to my surprise this blonde haired player is yelling at me and my friend! I yelled back “huh?” And in response he repeated himself apologizing for how the other guy treated me. Mind you, the game was still going on. The pitch had been thrown and the ball was hit and this guy was turned around talking to my friend and I! I was confused because I had no clue who he was and why he took the time to talk to me during a game. Later that day I took to Facebook where I did some awesome stalker-ing to find out who this mystery guy was. All I knew was his baseball number was 16. Ryan Snaadt. I had no clue how to say his last name but I thought he was cute and clicked on the ‘add friend’ button.&nbsp;

By the next day he had accepted the friend request and by that night I had received a message! “Hey, it’s number 16 haha”. I don’t remember much of the conversation, but I remember thinking that this kid was nice to talk to and didn’t have the typical responses that a normal guy usually has. Days of conversations had come and gone and at some point parties had come up. He had gone to a party before messaging me one night. I was definitely NOT into parties at all back then so I&nbsp;immediately stopped talking to him.&nbsp;

So as a typical teenager I moved on and started talking to a boring response guy. One that would only say “yeah”, “ok”, and “huh”, never sentences. I was with a few of my friends one day and telling them about Ryan and this other guy. They both were team Ryan. So I decided what the heck, I’ll text him. My text was not a normal text of “hey!” or “what are you up to?”. Nope, it was a random fact about dolphins. I hadn’t talked to Ryan for a few weeks and my first text was a ‘did you know?’ text. I grew nervous waiting for his response. Was he going to think I was weird? Was he not interested in me anymore since I stopped talking to him? Nope! He responded with a fact about otters, his favorite animal.&nbsp;

We quickly planned a time to meet in person and started dating not long after that. High school was over for me, then for him. I was done with college, then a few years later he was done.&nbsp;

Holy buckets it’s been 6 years?! We bought a house in 2017 and adopted another dog to bring our family up to 5! (3 dogs and us) and then finally on August 19th, 2018 he proposed.&nbsp;

We were on our newly annual trip up to Minneapolis to watch a Twins baseball game and walk around the Mall of America. After a nice dinner we walked around downtown to take some pictures when he said “Our next event is happening at 7”. We get in the car and drive to this little park by the Mississippi River. To the right is a random light house, which Ryan loves. We start walking down the path towards a landing right next to the water. A dog is walking towards us so naturally I want to go pet it. Ryan refuses to let me talk to the pup pup. It’s sniffing something on the ground which to me just looked like someone had littered some paper. As we got closer I realized they were flower petals in my favorite shade of blue. We stop walking when we hit the petals. Ryan faces me and tells me he loves the heck out of me. The next thing I remember is watching him get down on one knee and ask me to marry him! We were both crying as I nodded yes! My only request when he proposed was to have pictures of the moment; so after the ring was placed on my finger and we hugged and kissed, I heard the clicking of a camera.&nbsp;

We got our engagement pictures right then and there! I cannot wait for now 9-12-20&nbsp;when I become Paige Kristine Snaadt. ♥️

If you are planning on partying with us all night, enjoy&nbsp;a safe place to stay at the Honey Creek Resort. A shuttle will taxi you to and from the venue, so you can enjoy the night.&nbsp;We have a room block, so take advantage of the discount!&nbsp; When booking just make sure to say you're with the Engler/Snaadt wedding! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE CALLING THE NUMBER LISTED ABOVE. THE CALL CENTER WILL TELL YOU THE WRONG INFORMATION. THE NUMBER LISTED ABOVE IS THE FRONT DESK NUMBER. After checking in to the hotel, the shuttle to take you to the venue (and bring you back after a night of fun and drinks). There are a few cheaper hotels 20-30 mins away from the venue as well, but we will NOT have a shuttle to take you to and from those locations.
