We are a family: Kathy and Ron Gray, Miranda and Scott Gray-Burlingame. We lived in the Twin Cities for many years and then discovered the beauty of Southeastern Minnesota and the scenic Mississippi River Valley. We are here because we believe there is still a place in our community, our economy and our society for a family-owned and operated business where people do what they love and love what they do.

Along with our skilled & dedicated staff, we bring experience & passion for art, writing, dance, camp counseling, human development & wellness, sculpture, illustration, graphic design, retail, wholesale manufacturing, carpentry, parenting, sustainability, peace, nurturing and teaching.

The founders of the Nelson Cheese Factory made cheese for over 100 years. While we no longer make cheese, the offerings have been expanded to include cheese from Wisconsin and around the world as well as fine wines and a gourmet selection of food. Our ice cream cones are a favorite with all visitors and our selection of sandwiches, soups and salads are fresh and delicious. A selection of gift boxes are available for shipping seasonally.

We offer indoor seating in our family dining room as well as our wine room for our guests enjoying wine and/or beer. We also have a nicely paved patio that is pet friendly to leashed dogs. We also have benches out front that many like to enjoy ice cream on.
