Our family makes this drive multiple times a year, and we absolutely love it—even though it’s a bit longer! We usually do it in a day, but if you'd rather take your time, there are great spots to stop for the night along the way. It’s an easy, scenic drive that goes by quickly, especially if you carpool with other guests and take turns driving!

Driving is the easiest and most budget-friendly option, but if you'd prefer to fly, the closest reliable airport is Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) in Durango, CO, which is about two hours from Creede and South Fork. If you choose to fly, just keep in mind that you'll need to rent a car for the rest of the trip.

No matter how you get here, Colorado is absolutely beautiful, and we know you'll love the journey!

Creede is a charming little town with a few accommodations, though options are limited. Fortunately, South Fork is just a short 20-30 minute drive away and offers a variety of places to stay, including hotels, cabins, and Airbnbs. If you're looking to turn this trip into a longer getaway, Pagosa Springs—about an hour and a half away—has plenty of great lodging options and is where many of our family members will be staying.

Some guests are planning to arrive a few days early and stay in Pagosa Springs, which offers some more to do, before moving to South Fork or Creede for the wedding weekend. Depending on the length of your trip, you might want to split your stay between different towns to make the most of your time. Lots of great options—just choose what works best for you!
