Our Story

The Beginning of Our Forever

Forrest and I met on a dating app, Hinge, in September of 2019! The first thing we connected on was our love for scary movies. We messaged for about a week until we had our first date at Mi Dia in Grapevine. Our date went so well that we didn’t want it to end! After dinner, we decided to go see the movie, Scary Movies to Tell in the Dark. As time went on, we experienced so many fun things together! Our time was spent going to haunted houses, Six Flags, Cowboy’s games, hockey games, as well as, playing put put and pool, go kart racing, watching movies and golfing. One of our favorite things to do is to try the queso at all the different Mexican restaurants and see who has the best!

Valentine’s Day of 2020 was the first time Forrest told me he loved me and of course I said it back immediately! He is one amazing man and I am so lucky to call him mine, forever.

We continue to do all the things we love during this crazy life and we couldn’t be happier. We are so excited to tie the knot and become The Whiddons!

The Proposal

In December of 2020, we took our first ski trip to Park City, Utah together! As we arrived, we decided to have lunch downtown and scope out the town. The next day was our first day of skiing and my first day of ski lessons (ever)! I got the hang of it pretty fast and started to ski down the green slopes and slowly skied some blues later on, with the help and peer pressure of Forrest. On our third day, December 30th, I stayed back at the hotel to rest my sore legs while Forrest went skiing one last time. As I was relaxing and watching tv, Forrest was on the slopes still trying to figure out how he was going to pop the question later on that evening. He got back mid afternoon, we took a dip in the hot tub and then Forrest decided to return our ski rentals. As he finished up, he noticed there was a mini ice rink attached to our hotel. He then asked the employee, Jackson, if he could give him his phone so he could take pictures of the proposal on the ice later.

We then planned to go ice skating before our reservation at Ruth Chris’s that night. As we’re getting ready, I notice Forrest kind of pacing back and forth wondering when we should go rent our ice skates. After we’re done getting ready, we then rent our skates and finally make it on the ice. We make it only one time around the rink and Forrest gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him! I was so excited and shocked I kept saying out loud, “Is this real life? Is this really happening?” That was the easiest YES I’ve ever said!!
